Print on Print:

The major trend for Spring/Summer 2011 is definitely prints, with floral being the print at the forefront. As seen at Prada and Giles SS 11 Shows, From forest flowers to daisies to wild roses, a riot of blooms adorn everything this season with pretty ditsy patterns or bolder, graphic blooms to choose from.

Bold and Bright:

Spring/summer 2011 is the season of the “no holds barred” super-bright – though brights are nothing new, the way to wear it this season ( bright on bright) will make it seem like a breath of fresh air for your wardrobe.
Throw out the rule book and go there! Contrast your colours and wear with block blacks for statement effect.
As seen on the Major SS11 Catwalks like Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander, Gucci, andCharlotte Ronson. However, if you choose to wear this trend, ensure you make a vibrant splash!

Nautical Inspired:

Every year we see this trend and so for SS11, the recurring nautical trend is back with Prada and Celine both showcasing the trend in their catwalk shows. Get your casual look in ship-shape with patterned tops of vintage inspired florals or nautical stripes, paired with cotton trousers, leather shorts or denim. Complete the look with tan leather accessories, a patterned scarf and treasured trinkets.

Nomad:

This trend is carried over from AW10 to Spring 11. Nomad style means, first of all, freedom and a carefree spirit. Therefore, nomad fashion style is all about layers and patchwork, long sweaters, warm colors and cozy chunky knits.

For SS11, the layers are peeled off and the chunky knits are replaced by light weight knits, 70’s inspired high waisted trousers, long skirts, platforms, handbags with longer straps, feather accessories, exotic and different bold prints and hats.

Sports Luxx:

For SS11, Sports Luxx makes a return with a juxtapose of athletic structure with luxury fabrics. Drawstring and low slung trousers are moved away from cotton and polyester and set to silk and chiffons.

Daring sheer fabric was used at major fashion week shows like Hannah Marshall; denim and soft tailoring make the perfect fusion.
