Movie of the Year? Mahmood Ali-Balogun’s eagerly anticipated movie “Tango With Me” starring Genevieve Nnaji & Joseph Benjamin premieres in Lagos

The buzz surrounding Mahmood Ali-Balogun‘s new movie “Tango With Me” has been intense for the last few months. The movie received 5 nominations for the 2011 African Movie Academy Awards and movie fans have been eagerly awaiting the cinematic release of the film. On Sunday 17th of April 2011, “Tango With Me” celebrated its world premiere at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos, Nigeria.

The stars were out in full swing to felicitate with the renowned filmmaker and the movie’s stellar cast and crew. As expected, the movie’s lead actors Genevieve Nnaji and Joseph Benjamin captured the attention of the guests. Genevieve looked like a star in her blue Diamante Embellished Flapper dress by UK fashion retailer Karen Millen, she colour coordinated with her look with co-star Joseph who paired his black suit with a ruffled blue shirt. The premiere also featured major entertainment industry professionals including actress Stella Damasus, radio personality Oreka Godis, comedian Ali Baba, veteran media executive and broadcaster Patrick Doyle, musician Tee-Mac, gospel rapper BOUQUI, AMAA President Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, veteran filmmaker/TV producer Tunji Bamishigbin (He created the uber popular TV show “Palace” and movie “Most Wanted” which featured one of Genevieve’s first film roles), actor Paul Obazele, AMBO  winners Bhaira Mcwizu and OC Ukeje along with 2011 Presidential Aspirant/Entrepreneur Dele Momodu, Filmmaker/actor Kunle Afolayan, TV Presenter Yvonne “Vixen” Ekwere and many others.

Based on feedback from guests at the premiere, this movie is definitely one to watch! It is a modern story told through a great script brought to life with solid performances. “Tango With Me” is opening in cinemas across the country during the Easter Weekend.
