Published

There is something about DIY videos that makes you just want to head to a home appliance store and go crazy. They’re easy, can be done with basic home appliances and you can add your own twist to it. Today, we are going into the colourful world of nail art.

Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of beautiful nails around town, but unfortunately whenever I ask where they got it done the ladies sporting them always say they were bought pre-painted and most times they cost a pretty penny. So, I decided to look for the next best thing – DIY.

Below are 5 amazing nail art tutorial videos done by beauty bloggers on the internet.

They’re all really easy and creative and the best part is you can try your own twist on them. Check them out.

Mix and Match Monochrome NailsBN Do It Yourself Nail Art - BellaNaija - June2013006

This nail art tutorial shows how to recreate 2 nail art trends – the monochrome nails and the studded nails. This look is very edgy, great for parties and unique. In this tutorial, Cutepolish will be showing us how to get this nail art done.

NOTE: In place of the dotting tool, you can use a toothpick, the ends of a hair pin or a crochet pin and for the nails you use studs on, do not coat with a topcoat because the studs will come off.

Matte Nail ArtBN Do It Yourself Nail Art - BellaNaija - June2013001

The great thing about this nail art is how simple it is. All you need is some corn flour, nail polish and a small toothpick or stir stick. The finished look is really sophisticated and would be great for a dinner or a big event. Beauty blogger AndreasChoice is showing us here how she achieves her matte nails and how you can too. Press ►.

Galaxy Nail ArtBN Do It Yourself Nail Art - BellaNaija - June2013002

This next nail art is really cool for evenings. It is a muck up of the galaxy and has an amazing gradient look. All you need to pull off this nail art is a sponge, several nail polish colours and a surface to work on. Watch the video to learn more on how AndreasChoice got this look done.

Marble NailsBN Do It Yourself Nail Art - BellaNaija - June2013003

This nail art is definitely one of my favourites. The things we can do with a bowl of water and some polish. That’s right, all you need is a bowl of water and whatever nail polish you want to mix to get that gradient marble look and you’re set. SimpleLittlePleasures is going to show us how we can get our marble on too. Check it out.

Stone Marble NailsBN Do It Yourself Nail Art - BellaNaija - June2013007

This easy tutorial also has to do with the same tools used in the previous tutorial, except this time you’re adding nylon to it. Youtube Beauty blogger Cutepolish shows us how we can achieve this edgy nail art in some easy steps.

There you go. Be sure to let us know which ones you have tried and if you have any nail art ideas you can send them to Style(at)BellaNaija(dot)com. Don’t forget to share.
