Boko Haram’s killing spree appears to be never ending.

At least 300 people were confirmed dead on Monday, after Boko Haram gunmen in armoured vehicles raided Gamborou Ngala town in Borno state, Vanguard reports.

The security personnel who were supposed to be guarding the area, were allegedly absent during the day of the attack because they had received intelligence that some Boko Haram members had been sighted around the Lake Chad axis with some of the abducted Borno girls. It was while security officers were away that the attack occurred.

The terrorists reportedly spent about 12 hours killing people, destroying property, and wreaking enormous havoc.

They were armed with lethal weapons including assault rifles, rocket propelled launchers (RPGs), armored personnel carriers (APCs), Improvised Explosive Devices, (IEDs), and petrol bombs.

“The attackers stormed the communities in the night when residents were still sleeping, setting ablaze houses, shops and residents who tried to escaped from the fire, were shot ,” said Senator Ahmed Zannah, who is from the area that was attacked.
