Ex-Nigerian Minister Returns N120 Dowry after Marriage Dissolution

A court in Delta state has dissolved the marriage of Nigeria’s former Minister of Science and Technology (2007 – 2008) Grace Ekpiwhre and businessman/politician in Delta Peter Ekpiwhre.

According to ThisDay Newspaper, yesterday Monday 19th May 2014, a customary court sitting in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government area, formally dissolved the marriage.

It was declared that the love between the couple, which is necessary to sustain the relationship had irreconcilably waxed cold.

The minister who served in President Yar’ Adua‘s regime approached the court to dissolve the marriage as she was no longer interested. They have a daughter together.

Her family was asked to refund the court’s registry sum of N120 paid as bride price by her husband in 1985. The amount was refunded back to the court.
