Jonathan Reportedly Almost Swapped BH Prisoners for Chibok Girls

CBS This Morning has revealed that a deal to swap the kidnapped 200+ school girls for the Islamist militant sect’s prisoners was set to take place over the weekend, but later canceled by President Goodluck Jonathan.

If you recall, in a video released earlier this month by Abubakar Shekau, he said the girls will not be freed until all prisoners of his movement are released – read it here.

A source reveals to the American news cable network that “a deal to swap the girls for Boko Haram prisoners secured over the weekend was scuttled at the last minute by President Goodluck Jonathan.”

It is not stated what made the commander-in-chief back out of the swapping but Jonathan had earlier told British officials that the government will not be making negotiations.

The United States has made it known that once they know the location of the girls, they’ll “go” and “get” them.

Nigeria is yet to communicate the location of the girls, and yesterday Air Marshall Alex Badeh confirmed that they know where the girls are, but fear the group may kill them, if they go forcefully.
