Love’s Sweet Blossom: Tolu & Bode Wed | Photonimi

Tolu and Bode were ‘college sweethearts’, before the love blossomed over a few years into something truly amazing!

The couple met through a mutual friend when they were students at UNILAG – University of Lagos. A few years later the proposal came in the form of a surprise prayer. Tolu says, “We were about to go for a wedding when he asked to step back in for a prayer. Needless to say the prayer was very incoherently said due to the anxiety. Afterwards he got down on one knee and proposed!”

The couple’s traditional wedding was a splendid occasion filled with colour and culture! The bride and groom wore cobalt blue aso-oke for their first look, so on trend for this year. The bride then changed into a stunning sky blue gold embroidered mermaid dress from Dubai which was chosen by her groom.

At the white wedding reception the couple rocked “Lagos Party” style with guest performances by Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Sean Tizzle at their reception. She wore a fairytale dress – the ‘Ariel’ gown from Alfred Angelo, while the groom was donned in an ivory blazer from Gieves & Hawkes. It was full of touching moments as well – after a surprise video by the her family, Tolu was moved to tears.
