New Designer Alert!

We love it when we see fashion designers who’ve participated in home-grown initiatives thrive!  Designer, Agu Anumudu showed his debut collection in the 2012 Lagos Fashion and Design Week as one of 12 finalists for Young Designer of  the Year and now he is prepping to publicly launch his ready-to-wear line!

Having lived in China for 5 years, his designs are greatly influenced by Asian dress making techniques and with an assimilation of an Asian sensibility for what is deemed sexy.

“I create clothes with some level of sex appeal. I try to create sexiness without being vulgar. The AGU woman is a woman who feels comfortable enough in her own skin to be adventurous with her fashion choices without breaking the bank. I also express my love for prints and colours” – Agu Anumudu

As one of the nephews to Nigeria’s biggest style star, Nkiru Anumudu, we can only expect amazing things from the brand!  Her daughter, Zina Anumudu, has already been seen rocking some gorgeous AGU pieces. We can’t wait to see Nkiru Anumudu give an AGU creation her always original spin!

AGU will be publicly launching its pop-up shop and selling select pieces from its R-T-W collection on Sunday 20th July 2014 at The Social Place, 33 Sinari Daranejo, off Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos.
