CEO Dancers for Zen magazine Interview - Bellanaija - July2014009

Cool, confident, have worked with the biggest names home and abroad and have dance moves that would make your jaw drop. The CEO Dancers are a dancing trio to reckon with.

Made up of Ezinne Asinugo, Soliat Bada and Nqobilé Ntshangase, these dancers have been featured in music videos for artists such as D’banj, Iyanya, Tiwa Savage, Alexandra Burke, Lil’ Kim and more; and show no signs of slowing down.

For an interview with Arinze Nwokolo (Editor of online magazine Zen), the dancers share what it’s like working with D’banj, their individual styles, thoughts on African fashion, items they can’t live without, tips for aspiring dancers and more.

Read Excerpts below;

On working with D’banj
D’banj is such a jovial and positive spirit to be around and he’s never without great positive energy. So it is always a pleasure working with an artist such as him as well as other artists we have worked with such as; Lil’ Kim, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Alexandra Burke, Dr. Sid, Vince Kidd and more.

It makes the job much more enjoyable and we are always pushed to give our best.

On their individual styles
Nqobilé
: I don’t necessarily have a particular ‘style’ but I love trends and enjoy dressing up and looking good. Lately I’m totally in love with my pastel hair colours, all whites socks’n’slides and Birks. My biggest inspo (insiration) right now is Nicole Ritchie.

Soliat: I tend to lean towards the more classic styles with a slight edge. Clean lines and simple silhouette best describe my style

Ezinne: Zara would absolutely be my favourite store to shop in and Victoria Beckham is my style inspiration as I believe she embodies great style and class.

On their thoughts on African fashion
It is great to witness how great African fashion and the designers have evolved and been accepted and gone to influence major designers and brands such as Burberry. Also amazing how it has now become a trend amongst celebrities such as Beyoncé, Solange, Keri Washington, Keri Hilson and Rihanna.

On items they can’t live without

Advice for aspiring dancers
Do not try to dance better that anybody else; try to dance better that yourself. meaning as an aspiring dancer, aim to constantly challenge and push yourself through dance training i.e: classes, workshops, auditions. practice coming out of your comfort zone by learning other dance styles that are alien to you in order to be versatile and stand out to book dance jobs. What many people don’t actually is that being able to book a job and get paid is actually what sets you apart as a professional dancer.
