Abuja (NAN) – The Department of State Services (DSS) has advised the public to be vigilant following the stealing of 13 pieces of “Catholic Reverend Sisters’ Regalia’’ from  a tailor’s shop in Kano.

This is contained in a statement issued by Marilyn Ogar, the spokeswoman of the service, in Abuja on Saturday.

The statement stated that unidentified persons broke into the shop at 55, Odutola Street, Sabon Gari, Kano, on Aug. 20, and made away with the regalia.

“With the recent trend of female suicide bombings in the country, the theft of these regalia heightens concerns about the possibility of terrorist elements using same to perpetrate act of terror.

“Consequently, the service wishes to draw the attention of the public to this development, and call on citizens to be more circumspect and exercise vigilance with users of such peculiar attire,’’ it stated.

The statement urged the public to cooperate with security agencies through the provision of useful information on suspected activities in their immediate environments.
