According to a new study conducted in the UK, males who sleep with multiple women are approximately a third less likely to develop prostate cancer.

Researchers discovered that men who had 20 or more sex partners reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 28%, Daily Mail reports.

In addition, the study revealed that “men who have slept with more than 20 women reduced their chances of getting the most aggressive tumours by 19 percent.”

Also, it was disclosed that celibacy doubles the risk of the disease.

Speaking on the study results,Professor Parent, from the University of Montreal said:

“It is possible that having many female sexual partners results in a higher frequency of ejaculations, whose protective effect against prostate cancer has been previously observed in cohort studies.”

The study has caused quite a stir in the medical community, as it is the first to proffer that the number of female sex partners rather than the amount of sex (or masturbation) that could lower the risk of prostate cancer.
