Pop for Roc! Jay Z Buys Armand de Brignac ‘Ace of Spades’ Champagne Brand
“I’m not a businessman;
I’m a business, man!”
That’s the Jay Z line from his 2005 feature on Kanye Wests’ song ‘Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix)’ that comes to mind with this news.
Music mogul Jay Z is certainly a businessman as he is constantly expanding his assets. The 44-year-old rapper has reportedly bought over the Armand de Brignac champagne brand popularly known as ‘Ace of Spades’.
The golden-bottled champagne, which featured in a 2006 Jay Z music video, sells for $300 (£188) per bottle and is one of the more expensive drinks favoured by the rich and famous.
This new acquisition is the latest addition to Jay Z’s vast business interests outside of his music, which include a clothing line, restaurants and a recording label.
According to Forbes magazine, Jay Z is considered the third richest hip-hop artist in the world with an estimated net worth of $520m.
