Abuja Police Arraign Tailor Over Theft of 10 Lace Materials

Police in Abuja on Friday arraigned a tailor, Rose Baba in a Senior Magistrates’ Court, Life Camp, Abuja, for stealing 10 lace materials from Bola Derasimi.

The accused, who resides at No. 4, Third Avenue, Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Philip Apollo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 22.

He said the plaintiff gave the accused the lace materials to sew for her and her friends but she decided to abscond with it until she was apprehended recently.

The prosecutor said the offense contravened Section 287 of the Penal Code.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the offence and the Senior Magistrate, Asamu Akanbi, granted bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in like sum.

Akanbi said that the sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and adjourned the case to March 2nd for further hearing.
