Environmental Sanitation

A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday nullified the monthly environmental sanitation policy of the Lagos State government that stipulates that residents must day indoors during the exercise, which occurs on the last Saturday of every month.

According to Guardian, the court stated that there is no law in Lagos state that forces people to stay indoors.

The judge, Mohammed Idris, said “the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria grants freedom of movement to every citizen, and as such, freedom cannot be taken away by executive proclamation in the absence of any law to that effect.”
