EFCC and their love for drama. will they convict? do they have any tangible evidence to convict? they like to go and arrest people and cause a huge scene but at the end of the day, nothing. nobody goes to prison. they have never and will never put any ex governor or ex speaker in prison but if its to catch small small yahoo yahoo boys who are doing yahoo yahoo to pay school fees that’s the one they will know how to do. (idon’t support internet fraud but u should understand my point)

that dimeji bankole EFCC drama pained me the most. I was watching this thing on tv like a reality show. I thought they were going to convict him but for where, even dimeji bankole himself was smiling and laughing. at the end of the he was set free with all the millions he stole. I’m sure he is abroad spending the stolen money on oyinbo concubines.

@bruno I quite agree with you. What happens is Efcc makes sure to bring charges that do not exist under Nigerian law. I’ve seen them do it several times. After they shake you down and you settle them, the matter goes to trial and the Judge has no option than to dismiss the case because you can’t try someone under a law that doesn’t exist. The Judiciary gets all the blame and EFCC moves on to the next one after making the appropriate noises. It’s a big scam.

This is what GEJ meant by Stealing is not Corruption, but we choose to abuse the messenger and disregard the message. The crimes they commit is different from what they’re charged to court. He will be set free but the gullible will come here and say PMB is working.
Get a conviction and I’ll know change is here. No more razzle dazzle please

We all knew this will happen!

Back then, when I was still studding at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, the Former Imo State governor, Ikedi Ohakim, brought a JOB Application Process where You’ll have to Buy scratch card worth about N1,000 0r N1,500 (If I can remember correctly) to apply for a state job.

This was crazy, it was even more crazy when they said the more scratch cards you buy, the more you stand a chance of getting a job.

    Imagine That!

@Bruno i disagree with you on this.
Ohakim did badly in his state but please separate David Steinacker on this.

Dont call that good husband of Adanna names! Without Adanna, David is not a poor Oyinbo! He is has his masters degree and works in a good IT company.

As for your beef over adanna i cant help you but trust that you will also enjoy your father if he was a governor.

David if you are reading this don’t mind Bruno’s beef abeg.

      Bruno you are mean! lol

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I don’t know which is worse, paying money to apply for a job or having someone tell you that the more scratch cards you buy the more likely you are to get the job -forget qualifucations and common sense. Nigeria, making me weak since 1914.

      June 18, 2015 at 1:57 pm

Omg is this true?! If so, sad, pitiful, shameful! At the end these people who call themselves elected officials may not have to answer to man, but they will certainly reap what they have sewn.

Like bruno mentioned, no one actually pays for their crimes, it’s just a show. The children, family members are never embarrassed, because it’s a familiar thing. As we type and discuss about the shameful acts and drama, they are continuously living their ill acquired lifestyles, while the masses work hard and try to better our own. It’s hard, but it’s possible.

Let this be a reminder, don’t measure yourself against some of these popular figures, no need to chase a lifestyle that wasn’t acquired fairly. Focus on your own destiny and work hard to achieve what you want in life without comparing! It is well, Abi?!

@Uncle Naira if what you say is true, the corruption in Nigeria is beyond what I imagined. Really, scratch off cards for a job??? I don’t want to curse these people and their generation but my goodness, they have really taken us for a ride.

EFCC, please when you finish proceed to my state Abia, and go after anyone who has occupied the state house since the creation of the state. They are all demonic (for lack of a better word.)

Nigerians!!! Why do a lot of you behave like uneducated people??? An arrest by the EFCC is not a conclusive proof of guilt. At least wait for the man to be properly investigated, tried and convicted before raining insults on him and his family.

    June 18, 2015 at 3:39 pm

But we know this game already. EFCC arrests, makes noise, puts him on house arrest, makes more noise, charges are dropped/he is found not guilty/he is found guilty and told to pay back <1% of what he stole.

He does thanksgiving in church, drops money for them, throws a party, invites all the current govt leaders, they all drink and celebrate, and life is back to normal.

Until the cost of stealing outweighs the benefits, we will continue to see seasoned criminals raping our nation.

    June 18, 2015 at 3:55 pm

Hello @Missreal, I’m afraid, you sound a tad uneducated or you have no idea what EFCC stands for. They’re not a health ministry or a religious organisation. When EFCC calls you in for questioning, it’s not a good sign – guilty or not. You don’t want to be invited by that agency. It doesn’t send good signals.

Secondly, go read about Ikedi Ohakim, his hands are soiled with allegations of corruption and and terrible governance, he did an awful job in Imo state as a governor – so awful Rochas Okorocha unseated him. That awful. So please, calm down and don’t just throw the word uneducated around just cos it sounds great.

    • Missreal

      June 18, 2015 at 4:23 pm

Hello to you too @Single Shalewa, Bitter Bintu AKA Madam Sabi Sabi! Why sound so bitter? Is it your name affecting you? I think you should change it to Happy Bintu #justsaying… Anyway, I agree that being called in for questioning is not a good sign, guilty or not guilty but the fact remains that everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. I am in no way saying that the man in question is a saint as I do not know him neither can I say he is a criminal as I do not have sufficient facts to form such a conclusion. Whether you are bitter about it or not, an arrest by the EFCC or even the police is not a conclusive proof of guilt and it is wrong to convict a man before his trial. That’s my point and it is a valid one. So get off your sentimental butt and get yourself educated on the intricacies of the law so you can make intelligent contributions and quit acting like a disgruntled child. After Mr Ohakim has been found guilty then you can go ahead and slaughter him for all I care.

      June 18, 2015 at 5:17 pm

Welcome o, Ohakim’s family member. We have heard you.

  19. Strit Kredibility

    June 18, 2015 at 6:26 pm

The reason you find indifference, scorn, coldness and ntoi, na-god-catch-you reaction as against empathy amongst the populace when the so called elite and rich run into trouble is not unconnected to a sense of injustice, inequality and palpable material lack of the majority in contrast to the obscene wealth of a few who did nothing spectacular to earn such stupendous wealth other than a brief stint in a position of authority presiding over a commonwealth or a closeness to people wielding state power and influence.. Nigeria is so lopsided, disheveled and often times hands the most reward to vice instead of virtue.

So long as there is no commensurate reward for honest legitimate enterprise and people are daily shortchanged and made to go through indignity and sub-human living experience. So long as the vast resources of this country continues to benefit only but a few, then the misfortune of the elite and the few privileged ones will continue to provide materials for public entertainment, sarcasm and gloating, rightly or wrongly seeing such ordeal as befallen them as a comeuppance.
