I have found that a lot of people do not know how to speak with their voice. They do not know what their voices even sound like or what it wants to say. They are not familiar with themselves. This is the core of my article today: Learning to speak with your voice.

How do you speak with your voice? Just the same way you speak to each other-articulating your thoughts into words and letting them flow out of your mouth.
What do I mean by speaking with your voice then? I mean we all speak and talk and laugh and share our thoughts with one another.

Here however, what I mean is learning your own particular language of communication-voicing your own opinions, stepping into your own person, discovering who you really are.
How do you go about this?

Well as always, I have steps! These will enable you to learn who you are in your core and what your heart’s truth contains and entails.

1. Before speaking with your voice, grow confident in your thoughts
Find out who you are by exploring your interests. Do you enjoy public speaking? Are you more of a writer? Or an artist? Do you like music? This is the first step in learning your voice-and this comes only by instinct. What do you enjoy doing? What is at the core of your day to day routine that enables you to relax?

2. Your Sound
When you have located the core of your person-the one activity that enables you to relax and come into your true element of happiness, then you are on the right track to discovering your voice which is your own unique sound. As you spend more time enjoying your activity of choice, you begin to learn your own language within that activity. For example, if you enjoy writing, what sort of topics do you enjoy discussing? If you enjoy music, what is your favourite genre? If you enjoy dancing what is your favourite form of dance?

3. Discovery
Once you have answered this question, you are one step closer to discovering your voice. This is because now, you are on the right track and working towards developing your own sound within your chosen genre. How do you go about this?

4. Practice Makes Perfect
As you begin to practice your genre of choice, be it music, art, literature, you begin to grow confident in your chosen pattern. As you grow more confident, you begin to discover your strengths and also your weaknesses. This enables you to become more conversant in your language.

5. Learning Your Language
As you learn your language, you begin to speak. When you have a chosen element of communication within your genre of choice, this enables you to develop your voice.

6. Speak
When you have found your language through exploration, you have garnered experience. And in garnering this experience, you have exposed yourself to learning your sound. As you begin the language of communication, you have begun to speak. Once you have begun to speak your own unique truth, you have begun to discover your identity.

7. Growth Through Discovery
This leads not only to aiding you to speak your truth to enable others through their own unique situations, it enables you to grow in the language of sound you possess. Your language of sound may be in writing, music, dancing, teaching and so on. And your message is important to your environment.

8. Helping Others
As you have begun to speak with your voice, you have begun to enable others to learn their own. This will teach not only those around you the importance of discovering who they are, but more crucially, it will teach you the value in nurturing who you have become.

9. Communication
Speaking with your voice, will open doors of communication for you and like-minded people. As you become more confident in your sound, and you begin to allow yourself to speak, you attract others of similar mindsets and similar aspirations. This will enable you to grow in a community that aspires to share and encourage your voice to speak.

10. Expansion Through Experience
When this happens, you not only become more confident in speaking but you grow more diverse because you have now begun to interact with people that enable your voice to become stronger, and more confident and developed in communication.

11. You Begin To Speak Different Languages
Hence your language of communication has branched out into different forms of speaking. This is when as a writer, for example you branch out from one genre of writing into another or as a musician you branch from one branch of music into another-you are allowing your voice to speak and hence it has gathered growth.

12. Progress=Attraction
During this process of transformation as your voice becomes more developed, you will notice people have become attracted to your sound. And these range of people keep growing more and more diverse as you continue to speak.

These are stages and steps I hope will encourage you to find your voice, and more importantly challenge you into speaking your truth.
