14 Year Old Girl in Ilorin Commits Suicide After Boyfriend Threatens to Kill Her for Cheating on Him

A 14-year-old JSS 3 student in Ilorin on Thursday committed suicide after her boyfriend allegedly threatened to kill her for cheating on him with another boy.

The deceased who attended Burihanudeen UBE School, Isale-Koko Ilorin, reportedly consumed a poisonous substance believed to be insecticide.

Her boyfriend, Rafiu, is currently on the run, and the boy the deceased cheated with has been arrested.

According to the report:

It was gathered that Rafiu, 20, who claimed to be a member of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), allegedly threatened to cause a stir at Aishat’s compound if she was found to be in a secret affair with the alleged lover boy. The girl who was gasping for breath after drinking the substance was rushed to a private hospital and later referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where she was pronounced dead.
