The All-Star 2Face Idibia FORTYfied Concert was everything we thought it would be and so much more.

It was a celebration of a living legend, 2Face Idibia, as he marked his 40th birthday while also highlighting his achievements thus far.

The magical night held on Sunday, 20th of September, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Things officially kicked off around 9 PM and we were still having fun when the event wrapped up around 2 AM.

There was even an after-party for the industry’s biggest stars the same night morning.

While we’d love to talk about all the fun moments from the show, there are particular aspects that stood out in everyone’s memory. Even though it has been almost 48 hours after the event, here are the 6 things we can’t stop talking about from the all-star 2Face FORTYfied Concert.

Yes, we’ve talked about Annie Idibia’s outfit to the event before (click here if you missed it) but the Nollywood actress’ outfit remains one of the most talked about aspects of the show on social media.

The mother of 2 showed off her curves in this beautiful floor-length dress as she supported her husband at his historic night.

A couple of times our BN cam caught Annie almost about to tear up as musician after musician came on stage to say nothing but good things about her husband. A number of them also commended Annie while talking about her patience as well as her understanding and forgiving heart.

It was definitely an emotional night for the couple.

EVERYONE Spoke about 2Face Idibia’s Humility

Some of 2Face Idibia’s friends and colleagues were given a chance to “roast” the music star.

In between the roasts from Bovi, Sound Sultan, Basketmouth and more, one thing that was constant was a reference to 2Face’s humility.

The roast gave people an opportunity to laugh and was a lovely infusion of comedy into the night but the fact that 2Face Idibia has always been a humble man who started from humble beginnings was not lost on us.

We can’t forget the fact that everyone who came on stage had a good word to say about 2Face.

Most people especially shared how he helped them at the beginning of their careers by giving them an opportunity when no one else would.

A Blast from the Past with 2Face’s Songs

One of the things to expect from a 2Face concert should be 2Face songs, right? Right!

We were blown away with the amazing renditions of some of 2Face Idibia’s biggest hit songs from other Nigerian acts.

Cobhams, Dammy Krane, Timi Dakolo, Vector, Efa, Gloria Ibru, D’banj, Darey Art Alade, Zaina, 9ice, Banky W and so many more took to the stage to perform songs like ‘African Queen’, ‘Ole’, ‘Nfana Ibaga’, ‘Implication’ and more.

D’banj Found his Harmonica + A Possible Collaboration with Don Jazzy?

When was the last time you saw D’banj whip out his famous harmonica from the Mo Hits days?

Well, we saw him use the harmonica at the 2Face FORTYfied Concert and it was a nice blast from the past. The Koleyewon crooner performed a couple of songs as well as an unreleased song he had with 2Face back in the day.

While some people on Twitter mentioned that D’banj was making A LOT of reference to Don Jazzy, we couldn’t help but wonder if he was hinting at a future collaboration between the two of them.

To make things even more interesting 2Face publicly begged announced that he’d love to see one more collaboration between Don Jazzy and D’banj. The screams from the audience was proof enough that they agreed.

So we’d be keeping our fingers crossed.

Basketmouth Couldn’t Stop Talking His Show (October 4th)

All in all it was a wonderful night, hosted by comedian Basketmouth.

Speaking of Basketmouth, the comedian who has a show coming up on the 4th of October (click here if you missed it) couldn’t stop promoting his show.

Basketmouth used every opportunity to talk about his show on Sunday night and while on stage he got Ali Baba to talk about it. 2Face also spoke about the show and Basketmouth got D’banj to promise him a free performance.

2Face took to the stage at the end of the concert and brought the house down with some of his best songs. We heard songs from ‘Grass to Grace’, ‘Ascension’ and many more albums.

It was a spectacular evening.
