CEO of Sarayah Beauty |Spa Therapist Village Hotels

What do you do specifically?
I juggle!!! Like many other women, I have taken on a number of roles. I am mobile beauty Therapist with a range of homemade bath and body products including scrubs and moisturisers. I am also a Spa Therapist at the Village hotel in Leeds on the weekends. Finally my ‘9 to 5’ role is as a Commercial Manager at a hosted Telecommunications organisation.
My passion is being a beauty therapist! This is my favourite role and the one I could not do without.

How long have you been at the job?
I have been a beauty therapist for a little over 4 years now.

Highlights of your job
Working as a spa therapist is one of the most rewarding jobs ever. It is very fast paced; as one client leaves the room, the next appointment is waiting. You have to be on point with timing or you end up working through your lunch. It’s back to back!!! The day goes super quickly! I get to meet new people almost every hour. There is never a dull moment at the spa. As a mobile therapist being invited to give treatments at pamper parties.

Oh and Real Talk Fridays with my Instagram friends and clients. I could go on and on…

I would say the most rewarding aspect of my job is the satisfaction of each client saying ” Thank you, that was lovely”. Knowing you have made someone feel less stressed and more positive about life in general is a great feeling in itself.

Idiots calling me up or coming to the spa in search of extras *rolls eyes*. At least at the Spa we are thoroughly protected from these pervs. As a mobile therapist when I get a call from a male asking for a ‘wink’ massage. In a bid to be professional at all times, I say, “Unfortunately sir, we do not offer those sorts of services. Might I suggest your local brothel? Thanks for your enquiry, Goodbye” Number blocked and life goes on.

If you weren’t a beauty therapist what would you be doing?
Hmmm, I would be bothering my husband with questions like. “Do you think I would have made a good Beauty therapist” /” Why did I not pursue it?”

Sarayah york IMG-20150825-WA0018 IMG-20150825-WA0015 On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you grade your skill set at this job
I am the best in the business! No one can give you a more relaxing treatment. No one! Just joking, I would say an 8, I feel there is so much more I could learn. I would love to travel the world and learn different massage techniques from different parts of the world.

Are you living career dream?
Absolutely!

We absolutely adore working Mums! It’s impressive to see how Bolatito handles clients who want to take things too far.  Let’s take a closer look at her average day at the spa.
