Buhari Condemns Falae’s Abduction | Instructs Security Agencies to Intervene
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Inspector-General of police and the security agencies to take necessary actions to ensure the safe and speedy rescue of Olu Falae.
This directive is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
Falae was abducted at his farm on Monday by gunmen, who demanded N100 million as ransom.
Buhari condemned “the callous and reprehensible kidnapping” of the former secretary to the government of the federation and elder statesman.
He assured Falae’s family, friends and other concerned Nigerians that the Federal Government would do its utmost best to ensure Falae’s release.
The president, who was earlier briefed on the latest development on the abduction saga by relevant security agencies, requested constant updates from the police and security agencies on efforts to find and rescue Falae.
He also denounced the recurring incidents of abductions in the country.
The president assured that ongoing efforts to ensure security of lives and property in the country would continue.
He gave a reassurance that under his leadership, Nigerians, irrespective of their status, would no longer be left at the mercy of criminal elements.
