On Friday, November 6th, the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre was transformed into a magical wonderland, as an all woman ensemble of Titilope Sonuga, Ruby Gyang, Omolara, Falana, Deborah Ohiri and the Girlz Rule Band, took the stage for Titilope Sonuga’s ‘Becoming.’

It was a night filled with emotion as the audience was immersed in the breathtaking poetry of Titilope Sonuga, the Intel She Will Connect Ambassador for Nigeria.

‘Becoming’ told the complex story of transitioning from girlhood to womanhood. Each poem punctuated by beautiful vocal performances from popular songbirds, Ruby Gyang and Omolara. Talented multi-instrumentalist Falana, and traditional chants by Deborah Ohiri also provided inspiration and entertainment to the audience. The show was underscored by the talented all woman Girlz Rule Band.

In all, it was a night that elicited laughter, tears, and deep reflection as the story unfolded and closed to a standing ovation.
