Asa & Darey Art-Alade take the Stage at Etisalat Prize for Literature Grand Finale Today

International music sensation, Asa alongside Nigerian multi-platinum selling and award-winning musician, Darey Art-Alade are billed to thrill dignitaries and select audience at the grand finale of the third edition of the Etisalat Prize for Literature taking place this evening at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos.

Asa and Darey have a number of international recognized albums and chart topping singles to their individual credits. High profile guests expected to be made up of writers, book critics and academics from across Africa will be treated to various songs from their albums, as well as joint performances.

This year’s Award Ceremony will embody the theme “Representing the Diversity of African Voices” by showcasing the richness of Africa and how our diversity converges into one unique voice of the continent. The three books vying for the top prize include: Tram 83 by Fiston Mwanza Mujila, The Story of Anna P, as Told by Herself written Penny Busetto and What Will People Say? by Rehana Rossouw.
Chief Executive Officer at Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher said Asa and Darey’s performance is targeted at creating a wholesome and entertaining event accumulated to celebrate the growth and depth in Africa’s literary community.

The Etisalat Prize for Literature is the first ever pan-African prize to applaud first time writers of published fiction novels on the continent. The prize will bring together high profile writers, book critics and academics from across the continent and beyond to identify new writers of African descent.
