The Chairman of Lagos Task Force, Superintendent of Police, Olayinka Egbeyemi, has said that the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit would enforce the Lagos State Road Traffic Laws of 2012 around filling stations across the state.

He made this statement yesterday during an operation to clear traffic around filling stations. The operation which took place in Ikeja, local airport road, Oshodi and Mushin saw the impounding of over 60 motorcycles plying restricted routes and the arrest of 10 persons for hawking fuel by road sides around filling stations.

Noting the need for sanity around all filling stations across the state irrespective of the fuel situation, Egbeyemi warned that the government would no longer condone parking at obstruction zones around filling stations and warned that the vehicle of any motorist caught obstructing traffic by parking illegally at any location would be impounded.
