The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized an $18 million house with furnishing worth $2 million belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke which she allegedly bought with stolen funds.

The house which is located in Asokoro, Abuja also has a bulletproof gym.

The report, published by Al Jazeera says the building is part of the $10.3 billion worth of assets and cash recovered by the anti-graft body.

EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu said “We have been able to take on a lot of big shots that were hitherto untouchable… in the military and political class. In the areas of convictions, we have made tremendous progress. We have recorded 164 convictions in just one year”.

Also on display were jewelry and cash recovered from corrupt public officers.

Nigerians really should allow their God-given brains to engage much more on issues and especially on whatever, on ANY subject, comes from the lips of government, the presidency, politicians and government agencies.

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. HAS ANYBODY TRIED GOOGLING TO SEE EXAMPLES OF HOUSES/PROPERTIES/REAL ESTATE WORTH EVEN HALF OF $18M? HOW MUCH MORE $18M ITSELF. Even private islands owned by the rich and famous cost from $500,000.00 – $7.5m; really, really, really expensive island estates cost $15m; and it is this house in Maitama that is $18m?

$18m. And for that house in the pictures? This is DOLLARS we are talking about; US dollars; that is about £13m. We are meant to believe that a house costs £13m i.e. thirteen million pounds sterling, here in this country? When it is not IBB’s hilltop mansion? Does even that one cost thirteen million pounds? Even with all its state-of-the-art security? Has anyone bothered to convert this sum to Naira? Mike Adenuga’s mansion in Banana was reported to be =N=8bn.

Anti-corruption is great but the lies and lies from this government plus this, frankly, disturbing obsession with GEJ and ONLY GEJ, has worn completely thin, and is having an effect contrary to what the Buhari presidency and APC apparatchik intend, on me. Clean out the house, yes; beginning from your very own (e.g completely and irrefutably clear, WITH EVIDENCE CERTIFIED AND PLACED IN PUBLIC DOMAIN, all allegations against you, from your rule as Head of State to you your rule at PTF; look right beside you to your party national leader and all his cronies; look among your own closest cronies and associates; look in your political party; look beside you and around you seated around the table with you at every FEC meeting i.e. your cabinet of ministers, etc); then clean out the whole house, the entire house, or at least, make a clear, good, and believable attempt to i.e. take your anti-corruption to GLARING cases from all past governments and not just Jonathan. Is it because they are generals like yourself? What is an army general’s salary? Where did IBB and Marayam’s ASTOUNDING riches come from? Who is/was (the tense has never been settled) Glory Okon (re IBB and Maryam)? What about all the cocaine and drug baronetcy allegations? While on that line, what about the drug running/drug baron/money laundering record with law enforcement of Tinubu and wife in the USA? An army general: where did Obasanjo’s riches come from? You threatened IBB publicly whilst campaigning, accused him of being responsible for all the dirt and rot in the NNPC and petroleum industry today. IBB, through his spokesman, immediately warned you to remember that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones and reminded you that he has files and records of your stewardship and rule as Minister of Petroleum and as Head of the Petroleum Trust Fund, etc. Next thing, suddenly and strangely, both of you went silent on the issues and made up and were hugging and embracing publicly. By your action, or rather, inaction and silence, you put truth to the allegations against you on the $2.8billion dollars that went missing from the NNPC account in Midlands bank, UK during your tenure as Petroleum minister. You just had to go and pay him a courtesy visit along with your vice presidential candidate, national party leader, Amaechi, and others in the run-up to the elections that brought you to Aso Villa. You did not ask him, or yourself, whilst in his hilltop mansion, where on earth an army general (especially as you are one and know all the salary and perks) got the riches to build such an edifice? Why did you suddenly drop the Report on the Halliburton bribe scandal indicting various military generals and Heads of State? Where is (please place in public domain) your authentic, verified and verifiable Cambridge O level school certificate?

It is enough, it is more than enough of the GEJ song; sing a new song, or, sing the same song but amplify it as it should be i.e. CLEAN OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. From top to bottom. And the easiest and nearest place to start is you. And your government/cabinet and your political friends and party; then Goodluck Jonathan and his own government, then Olusegun Obasanjo, then Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, then Abdulsalami Abubakar, Oh, and you must not forget Atiku Abubakar, etc, etc, etc.

Then, you’ll be believable. And, laudable.

Diezani K. Agama was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Her father was Chief Frederick Abiye Agama. She studied architecture in England and then at Howard University in the United States.[2] She graduated from Howard with a bachelor’s degree on 8 December 1992.[3] She returned to Nigeria and joined Shell Petroleum Development Corporation that year. In 2002, she attended Cambridge University for her MBA.[2] In April 2006, Shell appointed her its first female Executive Director in Nigeria.[4]

Since 1999 she has been married to Admiral Allison Madueke (retired), one-time Chief of Naval Staff who was at various times governor of Imo and Anambra State.[2] She has two sons, Chimezie Madueke and Ugonna Madueke.[5] In September 2011 Alison-Madueke was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Management Sciences by the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.[6]

Bring her to book if found guilty but note that a career woman who rose to the position of an Executive Director in shell can easily afford what i have just watched.
Ordinary Hajiya,Lolo’s and Iyas have these jewelries dangling them as governors wives and in ministries how much more Deziani?

Can we see Aisha Buharis, even little Zhara, our politicians are greedy. But don’t show me only Deziani cos she is your enemy. Even Buharis wife N30 million cattier has been hidden.

When are we seeing Aisha Buhari’s, Babangida’s ,Abachas, Sanusi’s, Danjuma, Iara, Remi Tinubus, Amosuns,Alakija, Abike, is it because its Deziani?

In my little career i can save up and buy some diamonds how much a ex Shell E.D?
This sort of stories doesn’t move me. Show me that of others and whom they where before govt appointments.
Not vouching for any of them but dont tell me others are saints

In the Directors’ remuneration report 2012 section of its annual report, the global oil and gas company reported that chief executive officer Peter Voser received total earnings, which included salary, bonus, cash benefits and non-cash benefits, of €4.13 million (£3.55 million) in 2012, down from €4.52 million (£3.89 million) in 2011. Chief financial officer Simon Henry received total earnings of €2.03 million (£1.75 million) in 2012, down from €2.76 million (£2.38 million) in 2011.
      https://www.employeebenefits.co.uk/issues/march-2013-online/shell-increases-executive-directors-pay/

So, kindly tell us that story again about how Diezani (1 year as director at Shell Nigeria) got multi million dollar properties littered all over the world from London to Lagos, to Abuja, to Austria, to the UK, Dubai, US, and others?

Or how Diezani’s one year stint as director at Shell Nigeria made her arguably over 30-50 times wealthier than Peter Voser, the CEO of Shell worldwide at the time?

Meanwhile, CEO, Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited, Tunji Oyebanji is on an annual remuneration of less than N100m.

@So, you are so blind or illiterate you cannot tell that the point is – stop being selective in criminalizing past leaders. Try everyone. That nonsense of we will try only the immediate past government is BS. Who made up that rule. Where is it written in the constitution that a seating government should only try the immediate past government. Should we not be concerned about the recovery of all looted wealth, including wealth looked years back? Why are you all acting ignorant on this issue? I agree we should start from somewhere – by rounding every damn thief, including GEJ himself.

The thing is ppl need to be accountable for their actions. This will atleast put fear in d mind of civil servants. Before they clean Nigeria dry, they will think twice.
There will always be corruption in Nigeria let’s accept that. I wld rather be comfortable with smone who will atleast do d work, serve d ppl and just pocket abit. Not put our whole national purse in ur personal pocket.
Don’t worry abt APC rogues, se maybe PDP may win 2019.

If they can publicize the name and show off assets seized from an individual that has not been charged to court or convicted of any theft, then why are the names of looters still a secret to Nigerians? Something strange is going on here and Nigerians have to ensure that certain people are not being protected, while others are paraded as scapegoats. If they want to publicize, then everything should be made public. There’s something crooked about the way this issue is being handled.

Not long after he became V.P then acting president. Case was swept under the carpet. This same man became president in three months he acquired 3 presidential jets, while in office he had 11 presidential jets if not 13. I remember he ordered for two more and also two more armored SUVs to make it 35 vehicles in his convoy. Same man who said he curbed corruption by not making money available,if he did make it available then I wonder what our anthem would be now. When the head is rotten the whole body is dead n useless. You see what happens when you give women power or chance to handle a high profile position like they gave to her.she will definitely abuse it .Infact, women shouldn’t be given any chance in politics because they are selfish and greedy.

Forgive me if I’m wrong. I’m just a citizen learning herself. I grew up in the UK all my life and I’m trying to learn and understand about Nigeria and its history. This is my question…”Is it just me or is this the only person who has been targeted and exposed as much?” I am yet to really hear about any males in government who have been trailed and shamed as much as Diezani. I am sickened by how much she stole but I don’t understand why any males haven’t been exposed as much as her…the only recent one I’ve heard of is Abacha’s hidden loot…and Abacha is dead. Surely she can’t be the only one…

    • So?

      June 13, 2016 at 7:46 pm

In your very own words “Southern thieves” so at least you agree they are THIEVES, right?
As Bey mentioned above, we must start from somewhere. When/If PDP gets back into power, they should feel free to probe APC and the “Northern thieves”.

  22. Naijatalk

    June 13, 2016 at 7:26 pm

This government is so shameless and disgusting. You think Nigerians are fools, you keep parading people from the south and you leave your northern brethren. The thunder that is coming after all you is come with heavy prescription. Shame all the thieves. Shameless old fools. This life is not all, you people will give account very soon.

Lacey and Naijatalk the official Mumu, Dansuki is a southerner Abi! You are so tribalistic and that’s what the thieves use to hold you lot in bondage. Your brother and sister looters did they come and share the money in your village ? Dundee! They keep robbing you blind while you keep defending them because of tribe !

    • Naijatalk

      June 13, 2016 at 9:55 pm

@letme help you out , seeyou mouth like roundworm all up. If it was that easy why didn’t your “Hero” do it? The same silly people that complain that he should face the economy and leave persecuting people are now saying he should round all of them up! Do you know the amount of resources human and material that takes to catch each looter? Plus the longer the time the harder it’s to fund a paper trail. If every government did its own share we would have come a long way. Buhari will persecute as many as he can and let the next person do the Same. Not everything is about tribe you retarded bigots

    • Let me help you out

      June 13, 2016 at 10:47 pm

Goat Kadara, if you are investing resources in loot recovery, you do it one time; after all it is a profitable venture with the promise of yielding return. Can you explain to me why it will be fiscally impossible to go after thieves all thieves at one time. Especially as this man has been running for office since 1999 so surely there must have been a dossier somewhere on all corrupt officials to be brought to book. There must have been a plan to fight corruption. Rational minds deal with facts. Please present us with the detailed costs of going after a select few as opposed togoing after all. We are not exploring for oil in the Chad basin oh, we are going after thieves and you are shouting about waste of resources. Kadara do you realize what a twisted brand of fool you are?

    • nnenne

      June 14, 2016 at 3:03 am

@ Fani… Nigeria had oil boom in the 70′ s.
The Yorouba’s and Hausa’s were on power. How did they manage the money? We Should Have been Like Dubai long before GEJ came along.

Dasuki is Buhari’s rivalry and so is Abacha ,to OBJ, because he sent OBJ to prison Plus, Abacha is dead. . Now we know why these men are tried why others flaunt their wealth. OBJ, Atiku, Tinubu, Shonekan, IBB, Fashola, Amaechi, Okorocha etc are saints right?
May God forgive all of you.

  23. Romas

    June 13, 2016 at 7:54 pm

The reason the fight against corruption, lootery and thievery will always be in vain in Nigeria, is because majority of Nigerians support their own. Imagine some people commenting here asking if they have jailed Babanginda and some other suspected APC Politicians.
Why can’t we all join hands together and fight these self-centered thieves, who has done nothing but bring Nigeria and Nigerians down. Forget about being from the South, North, East or West; support the fight against looters, they have done more harms than good.
And please, no woman nor man should come here and spill rubbish about how she’s the only one that has been publicly disgraced as if you guys forgot how Dasuki made the world headline.
They should all be tried and sentence to jail. at least 21years imprisonment. All their properties should be seized as well, it belong to Nigeria and Nigerians.

  24. Shame

    June 13, 2016 at 7:56 pm

Apparently, the only thing angering some people here is the fact that she is from the South, so basically as long as you are from Niger Delta / South South, you should not be prosecuted if you steal or loot during your tenure. I am Deltan and can never ever support Diezani or Jonathan because he had the opportunity to make this country better but did not.

All the money they should have used to build up the country’s reserves is sitting in private accounts and you are here blowing grammar. Una never see anything.

  25. Ope

    June 13, 2016 at 8:40 pm

@naijatalk, I never knew dansuki is from the south,Omisore and ffk too. Abeg go relax

    • Naijatalk

      June 13, 2016 at 9:37 pm

Stop deflecting and answer me this, why can’t all the looters from time immemorial be brought to book. If we are so broke, then we need to recover ALL stolen wealth. I don’t care who takes the fall in the process, if you were still wicked as to steal the wealth meant to empower and devlop the nations and its people, then please face the music. What I will not keep quiet over is selective witch hunting. That is merely window dressing the issue. Can we at least agree that all past leaders should be investigated. The time and resources devoted to going after the names you mentioned can be devoted to going after all. If we are serious about fighting corruption, then no one should be immune to the law. Answer my question madam

This first class imbecile here @ Ope, I am sure when David Cameron told Buhari that Nigeria was a fantastically corrupt country, he was talking to GEJ and Deziani! We the Nigerian professionals in diaspora will do anything to see Corporate Governance entrenched in Nigeria, which means transparency in fighting corruption,no matter whose OX is gored! You guys just come here to display your low intelligence, please move to Linda Ikeji, that is where you have bigots like these ones , I will never stoop low to insult anyone when commenting, but if you come and disturb my peace with your comments,as i am overly free at work right now and oyibo they allow person do anything with him break time o,so I ready for all these dumb asses on this blog! Your father!

      June 13, 2016 at 11:09 pm

I meant Prov17:5! Before una go make person quote wrong verse! He who mocks the poor, reproaches his Maker! So all of you supporting one sided corruption are supporting calamity in Nigeria,so be ready to receive the punishment as whoever has stolen from Nigeria will pay!because they have stolen from the poor!

And who the heck are you to ask others to head to Linda ikeji’s blog, you are not Uche Pedro last time I checked, you are pretty much an unknown faceless commenter called lacey, so therefore just take a seat or better still a nap if you’ve got nothing better to do with your time.

      June 13, 2016 at 10:45 pm

@ see the word of God in Prov16 :5 ; if you mock the poor, you will not go unpunished! So if Nigerians cannot fight corruption wholly then the wrath of God will come upon those who will see the truth and start pointing only to GEJ’s govt! My own is fight all corrupt people and persons, as the masses has been suffering from the 80s! So for me we are not supposed to have people suffering! So like I said before o LIP’s will be disgusted!

    • See them

      June 13, 2016 at 11:03 pm

Please stop acting all sanctimonious, it is so very convenient to be calling God now, when GEJ and cronies were looting, you didn’t remember the poor or needy then. God is not a puppet to be called when we like. Even as a South South person, I refuse to be blinded by any useless sentiment. My dad had interactions with GEJ or more accurately PEJ as she was the one running the show and I can boldly tell you that his hands are not clean. Very weak man. Posterity will be his judge most definitely. A man who had a clear chance to turn around our region but did nothing.

    • Naijatalk

      June 13, 2016 at 10:54 pm

See fool, if you have been following my commentary, my stance has always been witch hunt all thieves. Not just on this post, but every other post BN has published on this anti-corruption fight. BN is welcome to help you out. I don’t speak out of the two sides of my mouth. GEJ and Dieziani are not from my village, heck not even my tribe. But thank God most Nigerians are not subservient fools like @see them. The sane ones are speaking out against a one-sided witch hunt. Get them all or get none.

    • Naijatalk

      June 14, 2016 at 1:53 am

My stance has always been pro-round up all past looters irrespective of how long ago the administration was but biggest bigot ever liveth like you will never see that. BN can help you fact check my comment history on any issue concerning corruption. I do not care if it is GEJ or Deziani, but do not single those two out, including Dasuki (stuff vendettas are made of, petty) simply because it’s easier to scape goat them. Let’s be real here. See them, Ope, Kadara ara, stop being a subservient mu raised to the power 2.

BN: the whale that swallowed Jonah apparently moderates your comments

Corruption has no tribe it’s alliance is only to self serving selfish greed. Let the cull begin if they live in my compound I am ready to hand them over for the greater good of my people. I am tired of seeing people suffer with poor education, unable to access medical facilities, poor roads, no light. Whilst the children of the wicked gourge themselves on wealth meant foe EVERYONE. My heart goes out to the common man suffering as a consequence of people’s WICKED GREED. I do not have a single iota of pity for fantastically corrupt politicians. They have no conscience and disregard the consequences of their vanity. How can thry feel the plight of the common man when they live in bullet proof triple glazed houses, fully insulated from the sights and sounds, plight and afflictions of the common man. sbesides they can afford to pay for sympathy. As for those unbelievable people whose main concern is the tribe issue (honestly my people tire me) don’t worry God no dey sleep.

  32. The real dee

    June 14, 2016 at 3:05 am

?????? Behind the cameras, GEJ and Buhari will be shinning teeth with each other, you people are here abusing each other. ?? The day you wake up and realize Nigeria is a pun in the hands of Politicians and APC is playing us just as bad as PDP played us, we’ll collectively stand against all of them, we won’t move forward. When the next administration starts in 2019 if its not APC, then you’ll see all the can of worms that’ll be opened about this present administration. You’ll now realize, sometimes politicians are only out for personal vendetta.

    • Smh

      June 14, 2016 at 6:05 am

So because they are as bad as each other nothing should be done, right? Everyone should siddon look. Like that is peculiar to just Nigerian politics, newsflash politics all over the world is a dirty game so stop telling us what we already know, that shouldn’t stop anyone being held accountable

  33. nnenne

@Ope… Go home and interview your grandparents and / or parents.
Naira was once worth more than the Dollar. Ask what OBJ and his fellow military head of states did with it. Ask how Abiola made his money. He was a mere Account! Stop creating this impression that the Yotubas and Hausa’ are innocent. They ruined Nigeria.
    How was OBA farms built?
Because PDP lost to opposition doesn’t mean that they are the worst sinners.
    Did anyone probe the military?
    Probe one, probe all!

BTW, when is Buhari coming back?
How much is Nigeria spending on him and his entourage daily?
Thought he said no more medical treatment broad?
Don’t use Diezani story to confuse us. Corruption is still going on!

One caught devil is one less evil to fight. A kingdom divided against itself will certainly fall. Jesesu himself taught us that, when he was accused by chaotic distractors of using the devil to cast out demons. The truth will out. Our main concern (we the victims of corruption) is coming together to stand against it. Not be concerned about which devil is caught first.

I truly agree with you, lot of people are not seeing the trends of what’s going on, rather they are just concerned with the current economic realities, its unfortunate goodluck and his colleagues completely ruined this nation with massive corruption and impunity, here we are today with a new regime that says no to these rubbish and yet people are complaining cos they never have the nation at heart.
