BN Self - Examine Sundays_Patience_diabanjo_July_2016_BellaNaija_Hi BellaNaijarians – Happy New Month!

Wow, June flew by quick! But I am back again with the fourth edition of BN Self-Examine Sundays, – You can find previous editions when you click here!

I began this series by analyzing ways to maintain your physical and mental well-being, but this month I intend to touch upon key elements required to sustain any new routine, leading me to today’s topic:- Patience – the intimidating, long lasting, journey of the unknown.

Patience is key! It is one of many things required while adapting to this whole self-examination process that cannot be overemphasized or overlooked. A lot of the time we desire things, we have ambitions, expectations and goals, but we often do not give ourselves enough credit for how far we’ve come overtime or enough respect for how long a particular thing needs to develop, as self-development does not happen overnight.

A major reason why most people fail to succeed is due to the fact that they drop out of things too early. We often subconsciously begin journeys without considering how it will grow and wish for a positive outcome. But we must use our determination, positive thinking, the assistance of others and patience to achieve all we desire.

When last did you crave something and ask yourself – Will I be committed no matter how long it takes? or do I just desire it for the moment? Desiring things for the moment creates issues, because we often mismanage our current situations and also negative thoughts may cloud our mind, leading us to envy the lifestyle of others.

If you are sincere about what you wish for yourself, I am 100% certain that “what is for you will not pass you by” you just have to focus and let time dictate the pace. I am a firm believer that if you work hard, develop a consistent attitude, avoid procrastination and you abide by all these things applying patience, you will come to an end that is successful and it will reveal your purpose.

Trust the timings you are given! Our fingers are not equal, and no day is the same – so we cannot compare. What may work for you may not work for someone else and vice versa, for example 2+2=4 and 5-1=4, establish what works for you and learn to wait for your moment.

“A delay is not a denial”

The longer the wait, the stronger you become. Remember no experience is a loss, our growth is not dependent on what we want but what we do. It is easier to neglect the idea of being patient because of how fast the world is changing but patience is an action, if you want better, do better to become better.

So…what are the things you waiting for? Have you maximized the opportunities you have now? You have to learn to cherish the present day, everyone feels like they are not where they want to be in life and because we cannot foresee the outcome of all that we are currently doing, we must have faith that greatness will one day come to light.

The upcoming topic for next week is Inspiration. I have decided to announce this topic early, as I believe it will help you meditate throughout the week. I reflect on my week and use whatever I experience to inspire my next post, I am inspired by a lot as there is so much positive things happening in the world.

The current exposure I have is unquantifiable as I am blessed to be in a circle where greater things are happening daily, I am also fortunate to have a platform that has gone through several phases over the years to share my insights on and it is very inspirational. Hard-work is essential and patience is fundamental, it is the strength needed to withstand the challenges in life but the two most occur simultaneously.
