“I wanted it to be as personal as possible” Chimamanda Adichie confirms She & Her Hubby Welcomed their Daughter Weeks Ago

Back in July 2015 BN brought you the scoop that literary genius Chimamanda Adichie and her husband Dr. Ivara Esegee were pregnant (click here if you missed it).

In a new interview the very private writer has confirmed that they welcomed their daughter weeks ago but decided to keep things private.

She told Financial Times:

This is the first time I’m saying it publicly. I have a little girl. I have some friends who probably don’t know I was pregnant or that I had a baby, I just feel like we live in an age when women are supposed to perform pregnancy. We don’t expect fathers to perform fatherhood. I went into hiding. I wanted it to be as personal as possible.
