Welcome to July 2016! BN Music presents BNM Red Alert
Hi BellaNaijarians,
Welcome to a Brand New Month (which is also BellaNaija’s birthday month…whoop!)
For July the BellaNaija music team is sending out a red alert to prepare you for the new artists that are going to be taking over the airwaves.
It’s awesome to keep up with Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage and the rest but it is also important to spotlight some talented artists that are on the rise in the music industry. They are Nigerian artists that are creating a new path for music, the ones that get inspiration from different genres and mesh them together to create something new.
Over the next couple of weeks in July BN will introduce you to a few of these artists; artists we think you should know about.
So to celebrate BellaNaija turning 10, we’re going to be featuring 10 new artists we think you should add to your library.

Today the spotlight is on Morientez whose real name is Ubido Chukwudi Daniel. He’s a natural talent and he has the look and the voice which makes him the total package. Morientez was born in Lagos and is also a Chemistry graduate from the University of Benin, Nigeria.
He participated and won several music talent competitions in Nigeria, among them the MTN/Soundcity Campus blast 2007, he was a runner-up at the Star Quest music talent hunt 2008, he was a semi finalist at the Glo Naija Sings 2010 competition, and winner at Mr Glo Rock and Rule 2011.
Morientez is signed to 1073 Records, a music record label formed by a group of young individuals with the goal of providing a platform for talented artists and producers to share their music with Nigeria, and the world at large.
Morientez has released a few songs like “One More Night” which is a unique sound but is definitely capable of reaching commercial success. He has been working hard in the studio on different sounds preparing fans for a music journey like never before.
