My brother insured his house aganist theft and burgulary, his premium was very low. He paid about (2,000 naira ). I was surprised.
I chose to insure my house also, but my premium was high. I was asked to pay (20,000 naira) imagine.

A few years ago, my school was on break and i would usually go to my friends office. I was running a program nearby so whenever i closed i would usually just go there to use the wifi and wait so we could both go home together. She worked in an IT firm and they had a server room with a paper pasted on the door which read ‘ALWAYS KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED’ From the waiting area, which i sat most of the time, i could see the door was never properly shut. Employees would go in and on their way out pull the handle of the door but if you didn’t apply force, it wouldn’t close. On this very day, i was waiting for my friend as usual and the door to the server room was opened half way. Out of the blues, there was this smell like wires melting. At first it wasn’t strong, so naturally i ignored it. Then some of the staff came around and they could perceive it too, then there was a spark and before we could say Jack, we saw the fire from the server room. Someone yelled for the security to get the extinguisher and thankfully they were able to put the fire out on time but not before one of their control boxes was damaged. The thing was one of the air conditioners in the server room was out of gas and the temperature wasn’t cold enough to regularize the computers and one of them got overheated and caused the outbreak. If the door was shut, the ice would have remained in the room and nothing would have happened. The management later decided not to blame the last person who left server room for not closing the door because the door wasn’t serving its purpose and so, they changed it to an emilinks door and YES, they haven’t had any regrets.

5) Ocha S. – #Emilinks #MyDoorStory #Day10 #Bellanaija I am standing directly in front of my neighbour’s door. They have got an 8-month-old little girl who just discovered the wonders of crawling over. This little girl hasn’t yet learnt how to talk but she certainly does recognise my voice as well as my face when I pass by so she’s always on the look out for when I’m about leaving the compound or coming in. This means that this little girl crawls to that door you see there, and because it’s so bad, there’s really no way of shutting it from the inside unless you put a wedge against it, my little friend would always crawl out of the house to come say hi to me, and this happens sometimes without the knowledge of her cousin who sometimes watches her. This then means that if for some reason she is left in the room unattended for a few minutes, she will be crawling out of that door and if possible out of the gate. Even though I look forward to seeing her take a peep out of that door any time she hears my voice, it’d be nice to also know that she’s safe by remaining behind a door that actually shuts properly. I would love for her to grow up safe until she can properly walk out of a door with a peephole for security measures such as one of those i know #Emilinks have, hear her turn the lock to open it and coming running out to me, when I stop by to say hi. There are a lot of kids ou there whose houses have similar doors and my little friend got me thinking about their safety; what happens when insects and reptiles come crawling in because the doors don’t shut properly? or what happens when the men of the night come barging in to steal an item that would otherwise be termed valueless? Probably, all that could be checked if those families had good, solid doors.

6) Michael O. – How my Door almost cost me my job.
My colleagues at work had always wanted to know where I live. But somehow, I never wanted them to. The road leading my house was very bad but that wasn’t the case. My Bad Door was the issue. It housed all types of insects and some reptiles. I won’t be wrong to say my door was their base.
Nemesis caught up with me the day I forgot an important document at home. My boss had came to my office to collect the document but I told him I forgot it at home. “Let me go and get it immediately” I said, picking my house key from my desk. “I will drop you at your house, collect the document while you find your way back to….” “Not to worry sir, I will be very fast about it” I said before he could compete his statement.
“Mike, I don’t have time for your argument just follow me to the car”. He concluded , leaving my office. I knew disobeying him might make me lose my job so, I had to follow him like an helpless sheep been dragged to the slaughter.
On our way to my house, one could hear my hear my heart beating soon fast.
On getting to my compound, I expected him to wait at the car while I get the documents. But he followed me. “What type of problem is this.” I murmured.
On getting to my door step, he sat down on a bench in front of my door and kept staring at the door. Meanwhile, while I was about to open the door, two huge rats came out from an opening beneath my door and ran towards where he was sitting.
My boss who had always claim to be fearless ran “4-40” like he was been chased by masquerades leaving his car behind. I couldn’t help but laugh out soo loud. I hurriedly got the documents and went in search of him only to discover that he was already five buildings away from mine.
“Am sorry sir” I said, on getting to where he was panting like he participated in a100m race with usain bolt. “Sorry for your self. Just go and get my car for me” he said handing over his car keys to me.

7) Hassanat B. – Day 10 – Once upon a time, a riot broke out in my university and students were running helter skelter in a panic. Because the doors were shoddily put together, strangers were able to break into other people’s rooms because of the poorly made and very weak plywood doors to steal or terrorize the afraid. That day, I felt endangered and had no guarantee that I would escape safely. 10) chuksvila – Can I still call this a door? This is one of the bad doors in my state hospital. A relation of mine was once admitted here for appendicitis. There were nets on the windows and insecticides in the rooms to keep mosquitoes away. This prove to no avail since something like this was expected to serve as a door. She averred that all day she prayed night never comes because she was tormented by mosquitoes at night. No matter how hard you try drive these little devils out they just kept coming back to torture me, she said. After much complaints she had to be discharged earlier than the supposed date. Few weeks later, she fell ill and was diagnosed of trophozoite of p. falciparum (+) commonly know as malaria. She went to the hospital to treat a problem but took another one. ‘I wasn’t bitten by mosquitoes in that hospital, I was punctured by them,’ she said. I came across #Emilinks doors on bellanaija and it triggered the memory of my cousin’s ordeal at the hospital and I couldn’t help it, so I went back to take a picture of it so you could see what #MyDoorStory looks like.
