dreamstime_m_11943106Ladies, the football season is here again, it’s time to step up your game and show bas that not even a football match can stop your love.

Some women don’t understand the fascination about football. Football is the only rival your man can choose over you most times. It is that powerful.

Most of us ladies by now are used to hearing any of the following during the football season: “Not now babe”, “Please change the channel”, “I’m going to hang out with the boys”, “The boys and I are playing PS6”, “I’m going to play football with the boys”.

If football has this effect on men, why can’t women make an effort to understand the game? Same way women make an effort to make bee’s favorite meal.

Why do women compete and try harder to get bae’s attention when they know he likes another girl? But cannot try and understand the game that can dethrone them and steal their time with bae?
So ladies, here are 5 steps to help you get closer to bas this football season.

Do a Little Reading
While getting your daily dose of juicy celeb gossip and information from BellaNaija and other juicy blogs, open DailyMail and click on the Sport section to see what’s happening in the world of football.
Imagine having a conversation with bae about how you feel Manchester United (Insert bae’s favorite club) will be difficult to beat this season and you have some valid points. The Sport section on DailyMail or SuperSport should give you all the expo you need.
Trust me, he will know you don’t have a clue, but it will be a fun conversation and you might pick up a thing or two!

Don’t Be Shy… Ask Questions
You need to ask intelligent football questions. Instead of asking, “Bae, how much is he earning per week again?” like you need to go look for the guy to replace bae. Try “He must be very good, to worth that much, what position does he play?” OR “Why would they want to pay that much for him?” Sounds better right.

Learn to Play the Game
No, I don’t mean actually lacing your boots to play football! Just wear some nice boy shorts and settle on the couch with the PlayStation when he’s not home!

Remember we want to get bae’s attention during the football season and we want to spend more time with bae. So you may want to start learning how to play PS6 behind bae. Then surprise him one day, and ask him to play with you. Don’t mind the look on his face, in his mind, he’s thinking, I can’t play PS with a woman that knows nothing about football. But what he doesn’t know is, you have been doing your homework.
It’s ok to lose to him, but you got to do something he loves with him, and imagine how surprised he will look when you are doing the right things during the game. Getting interesting right?

Give the Gift of Football
You want to do something nice, it’s a new football season, meaning, new club jerseys. So get bae his club’s jersey and get one for yourself too. You can go a little further by customizing the jerseys. It is the best gift to give to bae this season. Imagine you in his favourite club jersey, he will be happy to see you in it, same way he would be glad to take it off you.

Watch a Game or Two
You should be ready to watch a football match with bae now. The Sport section of DailyMail should have increased your knowledge of the beautiful game and SuperSport should get you ready with news and match fixtures. You must show interest, ask questions like, “Why is that an offside?” instead of asking “what is an offside”, bae will be quick to explain, but be sure to ask during halftime. Get in the spirit of the game, don’t be afraid to scream or jump, it is all part of the game. Bae will love it.

So ladies, here you go, your starter pack for keeping bae this football season. Anything else you would like to add? What have you tried that worked for you? I want to know.
