It’s that time of the year when members of the BellaNaija community come together to bond over shared experiences in the last 12 months. As with the previous editions of this series, we put out a call for you to send us your stories. {Click here if you missed it} To catch up on the previous stories shared this month, click HERE.

My name is Grace and I submitted an epilogue last year.
I will start by concluding where I stopped last year. I’m still getting closer to God. I’m not there
yet, but I get better each day.

My CGPA didn’t move. I didn’t finish with a first class, but I’m a proud Babcock University Bsc hons Economics graduate.

I didn’t date the guy I have had a crush on since 100level and we aren’t great friends either. I think we were better off last year and I’m really over him now. I have also made more friends in 2016 than I did in 2015. I’m still trying to rekindle lost friendships( I might give up though as some of them have changed)

To the highlights of 2016:

My final year project was very stressful and I was always crying but in the end It turned out well as I got an A in it.

My final exams were the worst which affected my Copa and hence I couldn’t finish with the first class that I desired and I was scared i wasn’t going to graduate but I did and all my friends did
as well.

My NYSC posting: I wanted to serve in Abuja as I didn’t want the stress of service but I got Oyo. I’m at camp right now having the worst time and also hoping I get Ibadan. The only consoling part is that I get to stay on my own for the first time in my life.

I kicked out a thing or two from my bucket list: I got drunk and I smoked.

I have met some of the most beautiful hearted people this year. My love life is nonexistent but I have a new crush now and I think I’m wiser, I’m open to either getting the best or the worst.

2016, the year I started growing
2016, the year I learnt how to really cook, out of boredom
2016, my most boring year yet
2016, the year I really appreciated life
2016 taught me not to trust everyone
2016 taught me the value of friends and family
2016 the year I started trusting God a lot
2016 taught me the essence of life and how short it can be
2016 taught me to live life to the fullest in the right way.
2016 taught me to smile through my pain and hurt

My 2016 wasn’t perfect or close to perfect but I’m still grateful to God for making it my divine year and for giving me the most amazing friends and family.

Looking forward to 2017, my year of victory celebrations!
