Welcome Development or Not? Students’ Evaluation to be Used as a Criterion for Promotion of Lecturers in UNN
University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has introduced a new criterion for promotion of its lecturers.
In a memo signed by the institution’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor J.C Ogbonna, and distributed to all Deans of Faculty, the university said that lecturers whose teaching score falls below 50% (to be determined by student’s evaluation), will be denied their promotion, no matter how well he/she performs in other criteria.
