BN Travel: Check Out Zainob’s Adventures in Jinja as ZeeGoes to Uganda

Hello again BellaNaija readers, it is Zainob from ZeeGoes.com again! So, last week I talked about my coffee and game reserve experience in Mbale and Pian Upe, this time around, we head back towards my starting point, Jinja. Jinja is a town popularly known as the Source of the Nile, the longest river in the world. And if you do not look closely enough, you may miss out on a slew of awesome adventures packed in this little town.

Jinja is the perfect town in Uganda for the adrenaline junky. Feeling keen on bungee jumping or zip lining over the nile? Check! Keen on getting dunked in one of the most insane White Water rafting rapids in the world? Triple check! Want to explore the town and villages for a few hours on a quad bike safari? Check, check!

For those with less time on their hands and can’t spend the night in Jinja, some of the activity companies offer pick up and drop off service from Kampala at no extra cost…well, at least Adrift Adventures does for their rafting and bungee service.

My time in Jinja was focused on back to back fun activities, and besides the Quad safari experience with All Terrains Adventure (ATA), I did not get to check out the town like I wanted to. For those who tend to travel in groups, I was eyeing the safari option by ATA that allows for a Sunset ride through the forest and villages, capped with a local buffet with some of the people in the village, that was for larger groups only. That would have been awesome to experience, but as a party of one, I could only do so much. Maybe another visit with friends along?

And for the not so thrill-seeking folks that travel with partners that like to do too much like me or just want a more relaxing travel pace, I spent an afternoon on a private island at the Wild Waters Lodge to find a bit of center and chill with a bottle of beer while watching the rapid water of the Nile flow by. It was most relaxing and if I do get a chance to visit Uganda again, that would be my spot for a long weekend away from the madness of Lagos.

Ps. Don’t judge me too much on my moment of fear when I was about to Bungee, even after years of experience, common sense always starts to fight with my madness when I get on the ledge.
