Every child deserves a chance to live, learn, and be loved!

Volunteer-driven developmental organization, Slum2School Africa, commenced a campaign tagged #My30thDream aimed at providing educational sponsorship and childhood development centers for disadvantaged children. This was a selfless act initiated by Orondaam Otto, who pledged his 30th birthday to launch the campaign by sending 300 more children to school by September.

341 kids from Iwaya, Sogunro, Makoko, Adekunle and Tarkwa Bay in Lagos State have been set on the path of education after seven weeks of social media awareness, community outreach programs, radio and TV tours and more.

The enrollment ceremony held at Adekunle Anglican Primary School, in Yaba Lagos with incredible individuals including Tonye Cole, Executive Director Sahara Group, Abosede Adelaja, the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education, Yinka Ogunde, Polly Alakija as well as several distinguished guests, volunteers and excited beneficiaries.

Alero Ayida-Otobo, the board Chairman Slum2School, was present to express her resolve as well as that of the organization to make education available for the less privileged children across Africa.

One of the beneficiaries, Hunsungan Sunday who is presently in Junior Secondary School thanked the volunteers and partners for their support and pledged to value the importance of education, on behalf of the thousands of other beneficiaries.

In Slum2School’s pledge to support the children and provide quality education, two more fully furnished Early Childhood Development Centres (ECDC) were launched and 15 new teachers employed. These centers will help in providing better experiential learning for the early years’ children among the beneficiaries.

The founder, Orondaam Otto emphasized the importance of education and expressed gratitude to everyone who was part of Slum2School’s vision in supporting 341 children enrolled in 4 different schools and he urged more partnerships and support to enable thousands of other children across Africa to get quality education even as they ensure that those already in school are learning.
