There was mild pandemonium in Eaton County court on Friday during disgraced U.S Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar‘s court proceedings for sexual abuse, CNN reports.

Over 150 women, including Olympic champion Simone Biles, had accused Nassar of sexual abuse with him pleading guilty to 10 criminal sexual conduct charges across two Michigan counties.

Nassar had been sentenced to 175 years imprisonment and during court proceedings on Friday, Randall Margraves, the father of three girls abused by Nassar asked if he could spend some time in a locked room with the “demon” as part of the sentencing.

“I would ask you, as part of the sentencing, to grant me five minutes in a locked room with this demon,” the distraught father asked. “Would you give me one minute?”

The judge declined, saying, “That’s not how our legal system works.”

“Well, I’m going to have to,” Margraves said as he charged towards Nassar before he was stopped by officers.

As he was being taken into custody, Margraves said, “I want that son of a b**ch. Give me one minute with that bastard,” adding “What if this happened to you guys?”

He was later taken away from the courtroom in handcuffs.

As he was taken out of court, Michigan Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis said: “You cannot behave like that. No one can behave like this. I want to make sure it’s crystal clear.”

Margraves responded: “You haven’t lived through it, lady.”

Margraves was detained for possible contempt of court but was later released from custody and was not charged with a crime.

He also apologised when he was brought back to the court saying: “I lost control. I apologize a hundred times. I’m definitely calmed down. I’m embarrassed. I’m not here to upstage my daughters. I’m here to help them heal.”

The judge agreed to release him without a fine or punishment “given the circumstances of the case”.

“You have to understand that this is a courtroom and this is where we carry out and enforce the rules of law,” the judge said.
