Ayo Elizabeth Olaogun creative director of Ayo Van Elmar took to her Instagram page earlier today, to call out TV personality, Salma Phillips saying that she failed to pay for a dress made for her back in August 2017.
According to the designer, she made the clothes for the TV personality in less than 40 hours. Ayo also shared photos of herself with Salma in the dress as well as the invoice which was mailed to Selma.
Salma Phillips is yet to address the situation.

@fulanipearl @salma_phillips First of all, I’m not sure @deolasagoe charges that little to make an outfit in less than 40 hours. I studied fashion design as a profession, thorough German degree. And I am the best and what I do! I have a right to my prices. You could have found a cheaper alternative, if you thought my services were to expensive for you. #2. Regarding the fit, I don’t understand what you mean cuz she’s wearing it on this picture and thanking me and she showed up and partied in the pieces. #3. We’d scheduled a fitting, she didn’t show up, I waited till past midnight. Fittings are quintessential, you’ve got to understand that. #4. I eventually sent my staff with a mobile sewing machine to Salma, to fit in her home and make all necessary alterations. Salma didn’t attend to them, she never came out to complain to me. But she partied in the pieces? I don’t get you. #5. I stayed up through the night with three staff members to cut off the flowers from the fabric and stitch them on one by one, by hand, to achieve the 3D look on the neckline and the shoulders, and you don’t wanna pay? Your stylist @jowysfashionconsulting and I have asked you severally over eight months, with pleas to pay up. In fact I’ve told you to pay whatever you wanna pay! Just pay! Next post is a picture of the invoice! Your friend isn’t telling the truth about what I’d charged.
The charge was 168K for two looks. That is 84K per look for a job done within less than 48 hours. If you refuse to come for a fitting, it isn’t my fault that you end up not wearing one of the pieces. I had emailed you an invoice and called you several times to pay @salma_phillips And you’re doing a 100K giveaway for the gram? At least pay for the one look that you wore. Pieces can be returned for alterations. But not paying up is not an option You may end up not paying but I’m glad I’m protecting some fellow designers from situations like this. Beware of @salma_phillips
@salma_phillips and her friends @fulanipearl @khadijaa___ (most likely accounts run by Salma, because your facts have no evidence and I don’t know what your sources are!) The party was on the 11th of August 2017, I emailed you your invoice on the 9th of August. You were at my café on 8th of August, I sent your emails to both your email accounts, which you gave to me! I was also ready for your fitting, you never showed up. You could have rejected the service, complained that my prices were unaffordable for you before my services were rendered
