#AMVCA2018: BellaNaija Style presents our Best Dressed List from the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards!

The star-studded Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards was held at Eko Hotel and Suites and saw nominees and guests alike kill it sartorially.  With  a profusion of jacquards and metallic brocades in rich hues and not quite run-of-the-mill princess moments this was one of the more interesting red carpets we’ve had in a while.

BellaNaija Style presents a wrap-up of the best-dressed A-listers from the event.

Cynthia ‘Cee-C’ Nwadiora

In a sea of statement-making gowns, this LDA dress made quite an impact. We particularly love shimmering fabrication and delicate feathered embellishments. Styled with matching gold accessories and a beauty look reminiscent of Old Hollywood, CeeC has never looked more arresting.

Ini Dima-Okojie is a fashion girl through and through, so the AMVCA red carpet was always going to be a chance for her to shine. And shine she did! Clad in a gold shimmering jacquard Fablane by Derin dress with origami detailing, a deep side slit with black satin cascading side train, she was an absolute vision. Statement earrings and a standout hairstyle elevated the dramatic glamour of the look.

Shaffy Bello has been on a fashionable tear all year!  The actress looked amazing wearing a dress by Fouard Sarkis Couture look from Enthyst Events.She donned a pale blue dress with gold embellishments and sculptural bodice detail with a fitted skirt underlay and flared overskirt. Opting for gold statement earrings that echoed her dresses embellishment , smokey eyes and neutral makeup completed this sartorial triumph.

Mr Obi-Uchendu dressed to impress in this Mai Atafo tux. With its ivory dress jacket and satin shawl collar lapel, he looked undeniably dapper. Black dress shoes polished off the look.

Rita Dominic brings it every year and this stunning cobalt blue number by Tubo is no different. Featuring a blue Rita’s unique look featured a fitted column skirt and an asymmetric voluminous taffeta bodice with floral applique detail. Her hair and makeup were flawless and we can’t find a single thing wrong with this look.

The classic tuxedo got an update courtesy of Rhobes Official. As a stalwart of the Best Dressed list, Denola Grey knows when to take things up a notch. Opting for overblown head to toe winter florals in a slim-line cut, the TV presenter and fashion consultant made this look his own.

The actress was radiant in red Yemi Shoyemi. This fashion partnership can always be relied upon to serve up a classic princess moment. The bodice  of the ballgown was hand beaded with additional ostrich feather details plus a slit in the full skirt.

The leggy actress was was ravishing in another offering from one of her go-to designers Nonnistics Fashion. The monochromatic lace dress featured a high neck, lace up corset-style detail at the back and a fishtail silhouette. She accessorized with a black patent clutch and gold earrings. A glossy the low ponytail and halo braid with neutral makeup completed her look.

The former #BBNaija housemate shone in architectural Bibi Lawrence, which featured a dramatic cape reminiscent of a Spanish matador. The blush dress featured all over gold embroidery and an embellished belt at the waist. She accessorised with gold strappy sandals and a box clutch and completed the look with crystal jewellery.

In one of the standout looks of the night, Yvonne Nwosu who is  never afraid to push the envelope continued the brocade/jacquard trend in a pale blue number with gold baroque leaf detailing. The draped off shoulder ensemble featured a voluminous pleated skirt with seafoam green lining, parted to reveal teeny tiny matching shorts which was both unexpected and bold.

Yvonne’s finger waved hair and top bun was the icing on the cake for this look.

We were in awe of the colour of Sika Osei’s Fablane by Derin dress against all that melanin skin. The sculpturally pristine detail on the shoulder and wasit line was the focal point of the dress, which draped softly to the floor with a slit for added sultry appeal. As always Sika kept her hair and makeup simple. Gold jewellery completed the red carpet hosts look.

The documentary filmmaker opted for a peacock blue ballgown from Lady Beellionaire Luxury. She accessorised with crystal earrings and a ring, which echoed the crystal detailing on the waistline of her dress.

The actor made a powerful, theatrical statement on the red carpet in a traditional look styled with coral beads. Befitting as the look was styled by Iniemi Ogoun, an acclaimed Nollywood costume designer.

Although this look brings to mind Zendaya‘s Monarch butterfly moment in Moschino last year Dakore did this look justice in this colorful flowing number from PM Luxury. Gold accessories and glowy makeup finished off her red carpet perfect look.
