BN Single Parents Pod Reboot! Dads, Let’s Celebrate Your Awesomeness

In 2016, BellaNaija ran a series for single parents, which was created as a support centre for people who were raising kids by themselves. Single Parents Pod. While it was not gendered, we received a number of entries from women, and the comments on the posts seemed to imply that we wanted just women.

From the stories we shared, we were able to get financial and emotional support for so many Nigerian families. {Click here to read some of the stories we shared} So, we’ve decided to reboot this series!

If you are a single parent and would like to share your stories, as well as some insights into this situation – with the aim of helping other people who might be in the same situation, please send an email to “features (at) bellanaija (dot) com. The single parent home arises mainly from:

• Death
• Divorce/Separation
• Unplanned pregnancy
• Abandonment/Elopement

If you’re a single parent, you just might be helping thousands of people … just from telling your story.

For this edition, we’re putting a special focus on single dads. We are hoping to prioritize men, with the intent to share lived experiences. We know that shared stories go a long way to help people, no matter how remote.

So, if you’re a man raising your children by yourself, please tell us your stories. We absolutely want to read from you.
