Fraud Charges: EFCC says it can't find Former NIA DG Ayodele Oke & Wife | BellaNaijaThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that it is unable to locate the whereabouts of the former National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Director General Ayodele Oke and his wife Folashade Oke.

The EFCC said this while speaking before the Federal High Court on Wednesday, Punch reports.

The anti-graft agency had in January filed fraud charges against Oke and his wife in connection with the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and 23,218,000.

Punch reports that the prosecuting counsel for the EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, told Justice C.J. Aneke of the High Court that they’ve been unable to serve the charge sheet on the Okes.

He said the operatives of the commission visited the known address of the defendants but they were nowhere to be found.

It had previously been reported that the former NIA DG had left Nigeria ahead of his trial.
