BellaNaija’s Rose Umane had a Fun Weekend Staycation at One of the Coolest Hotels in Lagos – Radisson Blu! Read all about her Experience
I love hotels and I especially love the hotel reception lobbies. My friends think this is a weird interest but I find it exciting when I walk into a 3, 4, 5-star hotel and I can tell the personality of the hotel. So, when Radisson Blu Hotel reached out to BellaNaija about having a fun weekend at their Ikeja and Victoria Island hotels, I was very excited.
My name is @rose_umane, a member of the Ad sales team at BellaNaija. I had been craving excitement and a bit of adventure for a couple of weeks and my wish got answered last weekend during my stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Friday – Radisson Blu Ikeja
Last Friday, I arrived @radissonblulagosIkeja and I was ushered in by a friendly and smiling porter who assisted me in getting checked into my room. My room was beautiful, spacious and warm. I immediately felt at home as I stepped in but then, I expected such ambiance from a 5-star hotel with a history of providing excellent services. One of the most appealing features of Radisson Blu Ikeja is its location – it is very close to Murtala Mohammed International Airport for those of us that love to travel. In my room, there was free WI-FI (ahhh, luxury?), a flat-screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities and complimentary snacks and drink with 24/7 room service.

After exploring my room, I went to Amani Spa to get pampered where I was treated to a session in the floatation pool, hair, neck, back & shoulder massage. It was such a relaxing experience and I slept off in between the massage treatment. The ambiance was beautiful, the massages therapists were all welcoming and my experience at Amani spa was worth the long distance from my home to Ikeja.
Amani spa floatation pool – It has a very high concentration of salt which is good for the skin. The pool is built to help you float but the salt water mustn’t get on your face as the salt concentration is toxic for sensitive skin.

At noon, I went on a tour of the hotel with the sales and marketing manager. Radisson Blu Ikeja has eight spacious meeting rooms, a steakhouse, a coffee shop, a bar, a 24-hour pool with lounge chairs and they even have a waterfall.
For dinner, I had a delicious meal at the “Cut Steakhouse” where I was treated to the finest steak. Chef Popoola took us through each meal served from the starter, the main course to the dessert and I definitely want to go back there for a good meal. After dinner, we moved to the pool area where a live band gave us good music.
Saturday – Radisson Blu Anchorage
We had breakfast at Iyenu Okin restaurant and got ready to spend some time with kids from SOS Children Village, Nigeria. Radisson Blu Ikeja supports and partnered with SOS Children Village as part of their CSR project. The goal was to give the kids an opportunity to interact with others, have fun and spend quality time exploring the hotel. We had an art and craft session with the kids.

After an amazing time with the talented kids, off we went to Radisson Blu Anchorage Lagos. @radissonblulagos is very artsy, the art is the first thing you notice and I hear it was designed by a Swedish hospitality designer, Christian Lundwall. It is an upscale hotel located on Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Lagos with a waterfront or city view, a bar & grill with views of the lagoon, a gym, an outdoor infinity pool, and a steam room.

My room was beautiful and it had a nice waterfront view, a personalized welcome message on the flat screen TV, tea & coffee maker, a safe and of course free WI-FI. I had a tour of the hotel with the director of sales and marketing Wellington Mpofu after which we were given a warm welcome by the General Manager of Radisson Blu Anchorage Kevin Kamau.

We had an hour session with Radisson Blu Anchorage drink partner Remy Martin. The brand ambassador Stephen Jimba took us through the history, aging process and story behind the cognac brand. We had cognac and dessert tasting which was quite an experience.
Dinner was a candlelight affair by the waterfront. It was a perfect blend of an amazing company, nice ambiance, delicious food, and good music.
Sunday – Ilashe Private Beach
On Sunday, we were treated to a fun afternoon at Ilashe private beach courtesy of Radisson Blu Anchorage. We arrived at the beach via a jetty provided by Radisson Blu Anchorage.
