On Friday 19th April 2013, the 2nd edition of The Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Awards (AYE Awards) took place at The Abuja International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The event kicked off with a red carpet session hosted by Rhythm FM Abuja on-air-personality Matilda Duncan. Afterwards, guests were ushered into the hall.
Inside the Abuja International Conference Centre, the event started with a rendition of the Nigerian anthem by Chigul, it was followed by introduction of her and Bovi as hosts.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr Samiah Oyekan-Ahmed (Founder of AYE Awards) while the keynote address was delivered by Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed (Director of SMEs of the Bank of Industry) representing the Managing Director Evelyn Oputu.
A total of 13 awards were given out as well as 3 honorary awards to Charles Igho Sanomi (Taleveras Group), Latifat Balogun (Hatlab) and Nuhu Kwajafa for outstanding entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Winners of the night took to the stage accompanied by family, friends and well wishers to loud cheers and applause.
At the event, the fashion and design nominees displayed their creative pieces, with some using pieces by Vlisco Woodin fabric – the official sponsor of the fashion and design category.
Praiz, Di’ja, Burna Boy and Ice Prince were also present to perform their hit singles. Did you miss the event? Never mind, check out all the photos.
