Toyosi Kekere-Ekun Induction Exhibition - BellaNaija - February2014010

On Saturday 22nd February 2014, breakthrough photographer Toyosi Faridah Kekere-Ekun debuted her photography collection titled “Induction” at its opening night at the Omenka Gallery, Lagos.

The collection had stylish art and photography buffs in attendance. The collection chronicles a turbulent time in the life of the artist, having to deal with death, heartbreak, introspective explorations of faith and the world around her, growing pains; breaking from the chrysalis of innocence and transitioning to reality and adulthood.

Guests at the opening night were served with Laurent-Perrier champagne, key sponsors of the event.

The exhibition which is open to all, (and will open windows of reflection, for those who have made a similar emotional passage as the artist and perhaps a reluctant appreciation for those who haven’t) is scheduled to hold for 2 weeks at the same venue till Friday 7th March 2014.

Loooooool, i hope those sincere Nigerians know what they are stirring at. They examine the art displays like they really really know how to analyse them. Lol. But ll the guest and host where looking so sweet. Good job.

Who told you they don’t know what they’re ‘stirring ‘ at?You mustn’t be an art critic to appreciate photography you know.

i dont know who you are or where u live or even how long you have been outside of Nigeria if even you have been at all that is…..but there are very well traveled, well rounded Nigerians who prefer to live in Nigeria…..so the fact that people attending this even is funny to you tell a lot about how informed u are as an individual…….

bloody snob. In a corrupt country like Nigeria, it is rather heartless to sound snobbish.

Pray, can someone tell me why Hon. Habeeb Fasinro is wearing breeches and riding boots? Did the IV say that it was to be an equestrian-themed event? I don’t get it. I swear I don’t.

He was actually coming from the Lagos Polo Club tournament where he played. That said, maybe he should have had change of shoes in his car 🙂

@Don Smiley, Hon. Habeeb Fashinro just finished playing at the Ongoing Lagos Polo Tournament. He is Infact the President of the Lagos Polo Club.Going forward he is the Uncle to the Artist, as her mother,Hon Justice KMO Kekere-Ekun is the daughter of Alhaji H.Fashinro, first clerk of the old Lagos Town Council. Unfortunately , a new Media & Retail Platform,www.fashionablelagos.com did justice to this event reportage, with it’s detailed account of the event.
