Abstract art is subjective. Dramatic colours and shapes. None of these outfits make sense. Surely, buba and trousers must be madness.

    • Mz Socially Awkward...

      October 31, 2014 at 3:35 pm

But in my mind’s eye, I was pairing that buba top with some blue straight-leg jeans and it made so much sense. Maybe not Fashion week apparel but I see potential for translating it to other casual/weekend wear (in my mind’s eye, I’m also pairing it with boyfriend jeans)…

Aunty Nky, I clicked on this page solely because of you. Welcome back!! 🙂

    Dear Fade,
Can you please stay away from crop tops? and also stay away from silky materials, ’cause I can see a bulge that looks like a doughnut from those pants. You shoulda still sucked in your tummy here, I’m sure it woulda worked.

    Many Thanks.

My favourite look- Abisola Kola D.

Denola looks quite cute, like a fine girl with abortion belt… I assumed cummerbunds always went with bowties…..guess not.

    • Mz Socially Awkward...

      October 31, 2014 at 3:46 pm

As in, I don’t really get this ultra casual trend of dressing everything down with some trainers. I know trainers can be properly styled with some outfits but I’m seeing too many lovely dresses and nice jumpsuits not engineered to be worn with sports shoes. So unless the individuals’ actual shoes were tucked away when the photographer ran into them during those 15mins that they wanted to stay comfy, I’m going to start praying that this doesn’t catch on like wildfire among the many impressionable minds in Lagos.

    • Bleed Blue

      October 31, 2014 at 4:32 pm

Ah! Mz S.A. me I like trainers oh. Scratch that, I LOVE the tings dem.

Honestly if not for this profession I chose ehn, I would have worn trainers all day err-day. With jeans, evening gowns, suits, cele sutana, jalabia, iro and buba, kaftan, indian sari, errrrrr-thang!
But as my fellow lawyer, you know na, we are forever doomed to smart dressing levels. God dey.

    • Mz Socially Awkward...

      October 31, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Hahahaha! If I catch you rocking Iro & Buba with trainers, I’ll have to take you to TB Joshua for deliverance.

But I get your steez, though and your love must be like mine for heeled pumps. However, my desire to have on sleek & sexy 3.5inch footwear at all times still won’t permit me to rock those heels with my gym wear. So… that line, e still dey, anyhow. 🙂

    • @ednutlhay

      October 31, 2014 at 7:18 pm

Well, if fashion is creativity, would you agree that whatever an individual is inspired to express can pass for that? Or maybe it can be permitted to say the objective of fashion is whatever that is appealing to the eye (hmm perhaps in a decent manner)? Or might you say that’s is subjective?

    • jenny

      November 14, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Nigerians like to copy style but do not know and understand the way to put things together, the trainer thing yes in vogue but wear it with some style. Some of the trainers look soooooo cheap and tacky
