Kemi Adetiba, Somi, David Tlale, Ger Duany & More Honoured at 2014 African Diaspora Awards | First Photos
The 2014 African Diaspora Awards (ADA) held on Saturday, 15 November, at Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College in New York and several creative young Africans in Diaspora were honoured at the event.
Co-hosted by Sahr Ngaujah and Ebbe Bassey, the ADA Awards is one of the most electrifying and highly anticipated awards shows celebrating the African Diaspora.
In attendance of the event was Adeola Adejobi, Aminat Ayinde, Chinedu Enekwe, Folake Ayoola, Folake Eniola, Lex Ojo, Natacha Gwet Simeze, Taa Wongbe, Obinna Obilo, Ngoli “Ngo” Okafor, Nyasha Zimucha, Adiat Disu, Eunice Omole, Millen Happiness Magese, Flaviana Matata, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Aminat Ayinde, Lola Ogunnaike, Les Nubianns, Saran Kaba Jones and many more.
The 2014 ADA Honorees are: Actor of the Year: Ger Duany, star of “The Good Lie”[South Sudan]; Creative Artist of the Year: Ger Duany [Nigeria]; Entrepreneur of the Year: Meck Khalfan, Puku Charger [Tanzania]; Community Leadership Award: Semhar Araia, Dawn Inc. [Eritrea]; Musician of the Year: Somi [Rwanda-Uganda]; Friend of Africa: Bernadette Paolo, The Africa Society [U.S]; Advocate of the Year: Dr. Olajide Williams, Hip Hop Healthcare [Nigeria]; Designer of the Year: David Tlale [South Africa]; and Company of the Year: Ogilvy & Mather [U.S.].
