Some people are complaining about D’banj performing Fall In Love 2008-2010 and Oliver Twist 2011-2012 but failed to noticed 2Baba performed African Queen 2003-2004.

Some said Oliver Twist keep winning D’banj awards, they failed to read between the lines that the Evolution award is based on artist that has flag Africa out to the world in the last decade.

      Some Legendary Moves By D’banj
      2007 – Koko Mansion UK
      2008 – Koko Mansion UK
      2009 – Koko Mansion UK
      2010 – BET Award US (with 2Baba)
2011 – Mr Endowed RmX ft Snoop Dogg
2012 – Oliver Twist ( UK RnB Chart no2, UK hottest single no9).
2012 – D’banj performed at Hackney Weekend ahead of 2012 Summer Olympics in London before 100,000 crowds.
2013 – AFCON Theme Song (Top Of The World)
2013 – D’banj performed at the closing ceremony of African Cup Of Nations in Johannesburg before 90,000 spectators.
2014 – Africa’s Biggest Collaboration (Cocoa Na Chocolates) ft 19 artists all over Africa.
2014 – D’banj delivered a speech at TED × WBG titled “Believe In Yourself”

2015 – World Bank Women Empowerment Awareness Song (Extraordinary).
2015 – D’banj Performed at World Citizens Earth Day in D C in front of 350,000 crowds.
2015 – Released An EP Album of 7 tracks.

Please stop hating on a winner, D’banj is the greatest thing that ever happened to Africa. I keep saying it, if we were to write about Nigeria music industry D’banj is going to take half of the book and if we were to write about Africa music Industry D’banj is going to take 1/3 of the book.

I believe posterity will remember him for good. D’banj, Kokomaster, Bangalee aka Capella, Mensah, Igwe, Importer, Exporter…. Koko Water

We love you from Bangalee Fans Club.

YAAAAAY!!! CONGRATS TO ALL OF THEM ESPECIALLY THE NIGERIANS AMONG THEM!!! #PROUDLYNAIJA I’m so happy cos the people that I wanted to win, won the Award except D’banj. Still wondering how he won sha, wanted The Legendary duo PSquare to win. Anyways Congrats to Him and Dj Arafat(Best Francophone).

P.S. It seems this year will be a bad year for Wizkid just like last year. He’s gonna get jealous of Davido again. Lmaooooooo. :p :v

    • kanni ladel

      July 20, 2015 at 8:12 am

Why not Dbanj. The most creative, original, dynamic and influential in Naija music industry. Those up there know his worth. He has even won more and even major or important awards than any artistes in Africa. Go and compare his award cabinets to those of Psquare, Tuface etc. The way Davido started, he is coming in the way of D.banj but still far away though. Go and find out. Dont die hating. Just repent. D.banj has stepped up and refuses to be intimidated by your collective hates. He remains on the top….

    • Loritta

      July 20, 2015 at 2:35 pm

Hahahaha. Why are you still living in the past? Talking about D’banj’s old glory. Who the f- is D’banj if not for Don Jazzy in the days of Mo’hits? Do you really know the meaning of that award “MAMA EVOLUTION”? We are talking about Artistes who took African Music very far on their own not a houseboy who served his master and gained glory. Since he is all that which you claimed, why did he not sing the songs he produced from his new record label? Why did he choose “FALL IN LOVE AND OLIVER TWIST”? Tu Face African Queen alone beats the whole of D’banj’s songs.

P.S. Psquare is now the richest, talented and best musicians in Nigeria and even Africa. They are among the best in the world. You should visit your goggle to be current and not thinking from your anus.

They had so much confidence in God, themselves and their Super Fans and God with the help of Us(SUPER FANS) crowned their efforts with success. CONGRATULATIONS OUR LEGENDARY DUO!!!!!

Dear BN, Best Hip Hop is that guy from SA and not Youssoupha.

And Tonto Dike started her singing career since 2012. She said she won’t quit till she the Grammys yet she hasn’t even being nominated in any Nigeria/Africa Awards. Lwkmd4h. ISSOKAY!!!

Dear Wizkid, na only you waka come? So you will cry again this year? #ADONBELIEVEIT LMAO.

  14. ONYI

    July 19, 2015 at 1:06 am

Wizkid so after all the private jet things, you are coming home with nothing? PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL!!!!! Ntorrr. :p

D’banj doesn’t deserve that Award at all. Look at him singing Fall in Love and Oliver Twist of 10years ago. Mtchww.

Big Hugs to Psquare and Yemi Alade.

    • kay1

      July 19, 2015 at 10:27 am

Look at you, do you think it’s by singing hundreds of songs, hit for just a month or two and leaves the market. That why his ever green just like 2face African Queen. So listen to music not mooseek..

    • ONYI

      July 19, 2015 at 1:19 pm

STFU. Quit typing alarming thrash. What do you know about Music? Do you really know the meaning of the Award Title “MAMA EVOLUTION”? We talking about Artiste that took African Music very far, you are here talking about a Houseboy. Can you compare 2face African Queen to D’banj Oliver Twist/Fall in love. Take Several Seats abeg. \___ \___ \___ \___ \___ \___. Anybody that knows what good music is knows that D’banj doesn’t deserve that Award. 2face Idibia deserves it.

    July 19, 2015 at 1:13 am

wow am happy for all the winners

  16. mamamia!!!

    July 19, 2015 at 1:19 am

@yellow sissy was Oliver twist produced in 2015? Cause the song keeps winning dbanj awards. BN, Casper Nyovest won best hip hop not the person you hve on there. Overall, last year was def better than this year. It was still enjoyable with a few misses plus that Bosi girl that was proposed to (as a girlfriend) so cause ur boyfriend has got beef with AKA you chose not to hug him? The guy kukuma carry the award go centre of stage. Awkward! Wrong move girl and I like you. Yemi Alade sha. Congrats girl! But that your speech??? Patoranking fire! You were great with your speech(a song) as always. Dbanj almost made me tear up with his speech and I do not even care much 4 him. Okay show with mediocre acts. I should go get a job now.

  17. Emeka

    July 19, 2015 at 1:28 am

Bellanaija, where is P-SQUARE’s ARTISTE OF THE DECADE???
How come it’s not in the list above?
Is it a mistake, or intentional?

  18. squad

    July 19, 2015 at 2:03 am

How in hell did 2FACE not win evolution awards or artiste of the decade. This mama is a joke! u said evolutionary (artiste that paved way and also took African music to the world) ask the new comers in the industry who they look up to and u think its dbanj? Do u pple think African queen is a joke. Tuface didnt have to do houseboy for anyone before that music was recognised. If i remember vividly they used that music for a black hollywood movie, international stars recognised it from mary J blige to T-pain and he wasnt even signed under jay Z or anybody. That music broke internationally right here from Nigeria with no int’l promo or feature. The pple we knew with tuface, where are they? likes of tony tetuila and co. You pple better get back to history and give credit to who deserves it. I’m still in shock to be honest. Tuface still has the greatest album in Nigeria. He is at the point of just grabbing every honorary awards, he doesnt need to do music anymore to define his position. He is KING OF AFRICAN MUSIC.

    • ONYI.

      July 19, 2015 at 11:32 am

You are right but PSquare deserves Artiste Of The Decade. #PERIOD

    • Talkam

      July 19, 2015 at 2:04 pm

Sorry dear BUT anyone that is familiar with the African Music scene and is true to themselves would tell you that PSquare is the artist that has had the biggest impact on the continent and the biggest out of Nigeria more than tuface …yes!…(Davido is doing it now but he is very lazy and clumsy on stage). I did not even know the nominees just watched the show and when they called the category i just shouted Psquare!……. they have an army of fans all over the continent, people even faint for them when they are performing in other African countries…

Now for the Evolution category, I agree with you!….. I used to be a huge dbanj fan. I am still a fan but not crazy about his new sound… Dbanj had an impact on the evolution of the music scene but mostly in Nigeria …..when talking about evolution in terms of African music then tuface should have won. I was disappointed but oh well….

On the other hand dbanj marketing strategy toh bad…… he is losing base in Naija so he decided to date one of South Africas hottest to gain grounds over there….*Singing “Rands and Naira” by Emmyg

  19. Miss Ennyomotayo

    July 19, 2015 at 2:18 am

Seriously, Wizkid and Davido shouldn’t be getting nominated for the best male in the first place not to talk about winning. There are other people on that list that deserves it more like Sarkordie or Diamond, chai those guys can sing. all wizkid and Davido know is to be singing Aro and repeating the same old trash. Smh. Yes I’m Nigerian and I’m proud of all the deserving Nigerian acts that won. But wizkid and Davido are so overrated sha.

    • onetallgirl

      July 19, 2015 at 4:13 pm

I completely agree, people are getting tired of Wizkid saying the same phrase over and over again in his songs, that’s why he didn’t win anything.

  20. Miss Ennyomotayo

awards are not everything. they often judge popularity over quality, and they often are more about the past than the future. but they are glam, good, and fun. so you didn’t win, keep doing you and being awesome. that’s all.

I’m not surprised Wizkid didn’t win anything. He’s the most overrated artist in Africa. He’s so limited: If I closed my eyes, I could swear In my Bed, Expensive Shit and Show You the money are the same song. Only Ojuelegba is special. P Square, I’m so happy for you! You deserved the award. Congrats Yemi Alade and enjoy it while it lasts because Queen T wants her crown back! Dbanj, Dbanj, Dbanj! Corny, thirsty DBanj! Kissing Bonang, sucking up to Don J, You just need to find better marketing strategies and put out mature songs. You need to take a page from Tubaba’s playbook

Evolution? Dbanj wins? And 2face is on that list? That’s a joke!
Nothing against the others and their efforts but the difference is clear.
Maybe ‘Evolution’ means something different. But if it is what I understand to be in this context, then 2face should have been the only nominee for that category.

Jeez. Some people are so fake and sideman. So just because wizkid flew there in private jet, u people are complaining . nawa o .IS not everyone of them that will win, only one can and talking about being overrated, thats really not an issues there are many celebraties that are overrated and they still do thier damn thing. All these awards are all cheat anyways coz the way they are asked to vote is just terrible and just because someone didnt win, doesnt mean u guys should be saying bad stuff about them., theres time for everything. They may not be winners now but tommorow is nearby. Some people seriously need to stop saying bad stuff to people when they fail ,u never know where u will land, it might be u tommorrow, therefore think about the fact that if u were the one how will u feel? DONT BE QUICK TO JUGDE PEOPLE!!✌

Letter of St. Paul to the Romans. Hahahaha.
Wizkid needs to be humble. He is soooooo proud and arrogant which will only lead him to his doom. He should borrow a leaf from the Legends like PSquare, Tu face, Don Jazzy etc

      July 20, 2015 at 6:08 am

Who is he? Haven’t heard of him or any of his music so STFU.

If you bring out all the Ugandan musicians, I swear all of them together never reach quarter not to talk of half of one Nigerian Musician. So you and your Chamelon should be thankful to Nigerian Artistes cos we are the big thingy(the reason African Music is respected and recognised)

If u have never heard of him ,that shows u live in a rat hole.Stop shutting people up every one is entitled to their opinion and our tastes and preferences differ. If nigerian music is superior u have no right to trash other people’s music.Grow some p****

    July 20, 2015 at 10:48 pm

So FALSE! Dally Ipupa,Magic system,Sarkodie etc didn’t need nigeria collaboration to project them.Sarkodie won his BET in 2012 b4 considering a collabo Btwn a NAIKS act. In de real world it’s all about genuine talent quality we all know MTV mamas is fake awards in the pocket of nigerians cos most of those steering the affairs are nigerians . It lost credibility long ago. And it seems de South Africans coutou to de nigerians so in not suprised. On which neutral institution will davido or WIZKID win ahead of Sarkodie? Or pato ranking ahead of stonebwoy. With what song?? Ghana is no one in dancehall and raggae evn de Jamaicans attest to that . U dnt hv to go far jxt compare stonebwoy and pato songs . I’m Ivorian but nigerians are very bias and it’s bad.

    • Stephane Omoure Dianne'

      July 21, 2015 at 12:17 am

Sorry about the typos ,I meant ghanaines are well known and very gud at dancehall, raggae highlife, rap etc so in de real entertainment world pato, wizqid,Davido etc can’t stand them. No wonder african music is stagnant ant can’t penetrate de world market who is his right mind will award one hit wonder ,yemi alade ahead of gud voice, gud lyrics beautiful Effyaa. The musician in nigeria with true Talent are 2face,J Martin,ASA etc jxt a Few.

      July 21, 2015 at 8:09 am

sorry ehn, but if u are trying to get ur point across, atleast get ur fact right, coz i dont even understand some of what u said. NO OFFENCE. i dont even know who thy fuck stoneboy is until they gave him that BET award. sarkodie i dont mind him but is also the fact that u people cant sing in english thats why less people listen to ur music. in case of people that actually want to listen to the music, pls translate it to english. GOOD DAY!

  63. Ify

    July 26, 2015 at 1:40 pm

Do nigerians sing in English? Abegi… Most nigerian musicians lack quality but our people will back it regardless with population. I have observed ghana has introduced a lot of positive rhythms which hv benefited nigeria.Forenstance highlife is from ghana we copied now azonto tempo is de hit in naija now but it’s all gud Africa unite right??? But let’s be fair and award de right people. Stonebwoy deserved de award ahead of pato rankin Iv listened to his sons they re pure quality. My favs: not again, onumade, baafira, wicked, pull up,happiness, kunaani, bhim nation. Just loved them ones on yutube and that doesn’t hapn to moi often.
