Zambian teenager Besa Mumba has broken the stereotype of a typical teenager. At 19, she is one of the youngest commercial pilots in the world. Thuli Tshabalala of CCTV reports.

Besa initially considered a career as a member of the cabin crew (flight attendant), however, she decided to pursue a career as a pilot instead.

After she graduated from secondary school in 2013, she was accepted into the South African Flight Training Academy. 2 years later, she had a commercial pilot’s license.

Her story is a positive one and with all the negative stereotypes in the media about young African women, this is another great example of an outstanding young African woman.

African women, I salute you. More importantly, teenagers, like this, with ambitions and postive attitude, shows that there is still hope for this generation Z! Well done baby girl!

YaaaaaaaY! Besa made it to BN! She was an outstanding student at SAFTA, very focused on her studies and nothing more. Thank you for being a role model to young African women. #blackgirlmagic
