ARISE Magazine Fashion Week 2011 – Grey presents “Pop Culture”
Posted on Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 at 1:44 PMBy BellaNaija.com
The final day of the 2011 Arise Magazine Fashion Week kicked off with a runway presentation by Nigerian label, Grey. Since it was a Sunday morning, the setting was intimate but the guests made up for it with their infectious enthusiasm.
With Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” playing in the background, we experienced “Pop Culture” – within this collection, we saw lots of the elements that have made Grey a firm favourite, however these were amplified and taken to the next level.
We also discovered the true star of this collection – COLOUR – Green, pink, blue, green, purple, tangerine orange were prominent shades on the (pink lit) Grey runway. With the colour blocking movement sweeping fashion right now, the collection was bang on trend and very “now”. Our favourite look was the ombre shorts paired with a silk top – loved it. This is a collection for the modern girl’s wardrobe!

This was a show I saw live and I was gushing throughout!! I think they did a great job. Loved the colors, loved the shapes, and I love how accessible & affordable they are, too.
I looove the colour blocking in this collection
i really loved some of the designs. the cut are trendy, chic, edgy and the colours are vibrant and daring.
i can wear all….nice collections…i like d fact that they play with colours.
amazing collection. so proud of you Rukky (seen as that what u want to be called nowadays)lol. i love all your pieces. Now this is what u call a ready-to-wear collection. Unlike some disasters I’ve seen on Bella before. Go Go GREY!!!
Grey totally rocks!!
Well done, Grey stepped it up.
Love them all! Great job!
Its a good collection but it still lacks that oomph, i just find the color combination a wee bit boring, just my opinion.
Wow!I quite like…..!
Not a big fan of ruffles, seeing as I’m big already, but I love the color blocking, especially on the maxi dresses and the royal blue-and-green dress!
Love it. Like Nigeria’s own Elizabeth & James but with more color. Hated the hair and makeup though.
i like d whole natural hair thing though

The runway this year was very minimal when it came to Hair and Makeup….hmm…not sure if I like it. Fashion is ART, the drama was definately missing in that department. But Grey had some wonderful colors
