Wetin concern bleaching inside this silly rant by Toke?Ppls let’s be sensible when making comments.
You sound like u have some agro for Toke, just waiting to hop out of its hiding place in your heart.

Toke, pls this is really not a problem that none of us has never had. Deal with the situation, deal with your ‘chauffeur’. there are ways to reprimand or discipline a domestic staff. Twitter is hardly going to do that for you. or is it for us to just know that you’ve now employed a driver?

Most times I’m really inspired by this young lady woman to woman, Yes, she works hard, she’s professional, poise, dresses well etc. But also at times, I REALLY wonder if she is the President of Nigeria or some young billionaire or summen of that sort because in my view I know a lot of people who are in her career field, and they don’t act “so paid” as she does. Is is that she hypes or what? Paying A Driver monthly, having a “live-in” make up artist and stylist and all….#NoHate #But…#

You know what forget that….Don’t fire him, just keep being the woman you are and help out a brother!

Toke is proof that if you repeat a lie over and over again people begin to buy it. She spends her entire life on social media and any where there is a camera. I don’t think it is abnormal for any 35 year old to have a job and pay their bills, that is normal in any part of the world. But not everyone goes on social media every time to announce that they are “working late”, “working all day”, “leaving for work”, “my husband is home alone while I’m working”…..just so you all know she is not just parting. This is another episode of Toke’s bragging that she has a driver. In reality though with the amount of money she spends on 24 hour internet access in a place like Nigeria, the amount of money she spends on tailors, the amount of money she spends on ticket to every event in town, gas to drive around every corner… all to show off and brag on social media, how much does she take home is the big question.

Toke, the drag queen, show some respect. Your driver is a human being and you are no better than him . You are paying for his service so dont talk down or dis him like that. Dont be stupid and always remember that your life is in his hands , especially when he drives your arse every where especially after working hours. We dont wanna know what happens in your home, so ms entitlement be humble and stop being a douche bag!!

    March 3, 2015 at 6:18 pm

Are domestic staff not people as well? Are they a separate breed because they serve you? Why do you talk about them that way, as “necessary evils”; like they are spawned from something less human than you are? What is wrong with you? Are you that far gone? You have zero level tolerance for foolishness, and you are who again?

You should not condone carelessness and sometimes discipline has to be meted out to the erring person, but for you to go all out and pronounce such adjectives on another human being? You are very silly and you have a lot of nerve! Don’t tempt fate or you will have it coming and with double stakes.

    • Peyton

How is she a rich girl? She has a valid reason to be upset, but most of these drivers have not got the sort of exposure and education we all have. Be upset, yet be caring ……its all just material things.

    • bruno

      March 3, 2015 at 6:44 pm

      @me.

you are educated so u will not allow anybody to hear word again.

“most of these drivers have not
got the sort of exposure and education we all
      have.”

what is the meaning of this your statement.

I hate it when people try to use education to oppress others ( this is a very common practice amongst we black people).

just because u go school doesn’t mean u sre better than anyone.

    • fleur

      March 4, 2015 at 2:36 am

Exactement. Common sense is something that educational institutions cannot provide you. It is one of those traits you are coded with.

    • Sunshine

      March 4, 2015 at 1:37 am

The fact that you are educated doesnt mean you are exposed. Your comment in itself has demonstrated your lack of exposure. Both you and Toke need to eat a slice of HUMBLE PIE while getting an education in knowing the difference between education and exposure.

    Interesting!!

Let me tell you a Story!
I live in a flat alone and so a school mate of mine ( we are not in the same year of study and not exactly close friends. i met her through a friend in church) came to spend the weekend with me. we had a lovely evening the first night and we went to bed. At about 6am the next morning, i got up to use the toilet. while i was still sleep walking towards the loo, i heard a strange sound coming from my kitchen. omo, sleep vanish. i got to the kitchen and lo and behold, the tap was left on( normally, water stops running at 10pm and returns at about 3-4am. i guess she tried to use the tap and found out there was no water and forgot to put it off, you know that kain thing naww. so for about 3hours, the water has been running) but all i was seeing as the water was flowing was money ( i pay bills) and through out that month i was very careful with how i use water, light and gas and it was almost month end.

so you can imagine my rage.. while i was there fuming and thinking of all the things i will tell her, the holy spirit, ever so calm, told me, dont shout at her, it was a mistake. i no gree, i started to her room and the holy spirit kept talking to me, i dey vex. i woke her up and we got to the kitchen, by now, i had decided to obey the instruction of the Lord of my life but i was still bent on making her feel very bad. so i said, you left the tap on for 3hours and i am going to pay bills, thank you. we both left the kitchen.

    Guess what people?
it was not even up to one week later and i did my mine. this time sef, the tap was fully open, as in, completely and totally wide open and the funny thing is the night before, as i was leaving the kitchen, i felt there was something not right but i shook it off. normally, the holy spirit would have told me straight away but he wanted me to learn a lesson. now, who will i shout for? myself? i felt so terrible, shameful and grateful all at once as i stood looking at the tap i left on. i felt terrible that just last week, i thought i was perfect and couldnt such a “foolish” thing, shameful, that i was going to finish her with my mouth if not for the caution of the holy spirit and grateful that at least, i heeded to the holy spirits advice even if it was half hearted.

so sorry, i mistakenly sent the comment in before i finished.
Bellanaija, please can you allow the complete one i sent in?

Anyways, just incase it doesnt come, heres a paraphrase
      WHAT AM I SAYING?

Tolerance for one another MOST ESPECIALLY those we think we are higher than on the so called social ladder. we sometimes talk to them without even thinking. take for instance if it was my mum that did it, i would have put off the tap and gone to my room. thats all

the funny thing is my mum used to tell me that i am very impatient with people but i didnt believe until this embarrassing lesson and its not what i will ever forget.

look at the motive: did the person mean it? if not, then dont sweat it
let it go. we should learn deal wisely with one another and i know we will be on the right track. i am making progress in that direction
      God bless

PS. i am not judging her. my own story is enough judgement for me too

Louise Hay comes to mind. You have just spoken like her and she’s my mentor.

    • Mz Socially Awkward....

      March 3, 2015 at 9:22 pm

I think the point you’ve made is very apt and useful for some necessary personal reflection. Especially where you said this:- “for instance if it was my mum that did it, I would have put off the tap and gone to my room.” So it is not the act, per se that pisses one off; it’s our attitude to the transgressor and whether we think they’re “worthy” of our forgiveness, depending on how we’ve measured the value of their person.

This thing wey you talk carry weight.

True. I remember one time after spending hours cooking stew for the week, I left the bowls of stew on the kitchen table to cool off before putting them in the freezer. I was so tired I slept off and woke up the next morning with the bowls of stew still on the table. I was so frustrated I cried. I however remember thinking that it was a big lesson because if it was my nanny that left the stew out overnight I would have been so mad at her. Bottom line – we all make mistakes.

@ nwa maka … oo darling, you are far too kind. it has been the Holy Spirit changing me. pardon my ignorance, i have never read about your mentor, Louise Hay but i am reading about her now. thank you.. God bless you

@Mz Socially Awkward….my bellanaija sistah!! thumbs up, thats exactly what i was trying to get at but you know naww, the thing no gree connect well. our respect and response to people is based the value( what we think they are worth, how much their friendship means and if they are even worth anything) we have put on them.. you are on the mark oo!! meanwhile, its Christ that made us worthy. thank you so much, this is what i was thinking about throughout the day! VALUE

      God bless you hun

🙂 i can imagine your state of mind at the time. these personal lessons are the most important and to be cherished because then, if you judge someone, your own mind will condemn you too. it helps us deal kindly with others who may not be able to stand up to us or reply us word for word.

mistakes will always be made but can we look beyond “our self importance” and look at the person with love?

thank you so much for your contribution. hope say the stew no spoil oo
      🙂 ..God bless

    Toke
    1. Somewhere in the north young women your age have been killed or displaced because of the senseless acts of some delusional extremists through no fault of theirs.
    2. In this same north, 200 young girls-young, innocent and full of big dreams-were kidnapped and subjected to unthinkable cruelty. What did they do wrong? They wanted to do something meaningful with their lives: that was their offense.
    3. Another young boy called Treyvon Martin whom I’m sure had hopes and aspirations as well was also killed senselessly just because of his race.
    4. In Rwanda, there are so many beautiful women, more beautiful than you or I, who have just one arm, only one leg, their fingers cut off, etc for a war they knew nothing about.
    5. You didn’t have your dreams and ambitions cut off by a senseless death. You are awake, you are healthy, you are rich. Your car has a remote: so many people your age don’t even have a car. I could go on and on and on again about the problems people have that you don’t. Please stop being petty, grow up, count your blessings and remember that this driver is human too and deserves to be treated with respect and maturity. Just because you pay him doesn’t mean you should humiliate him. You don’t know tommorow.

I can totally relate. Many a time I have wanted to wax colloquial at another persons fault. But before one word crosses my mouth, the Holy Spirit, ever so gently, points out up to four cases where I have been in the very same shoes as the person as I was about to impugn. Sadly, sometimes I do not listen and end up feeling like a freaking judas.

🙂 He is a gentle “convicter” and a patient one too. indeed. its a pleasure to be able to have someone like you to relate with in matters that concern the holy spirit. you know, your comment reminded me of James 3:2 “For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature” and this what the Holy Spirit thrives to help us with.

🙂 hahhahhahaha @freaking judas.. ME TOO and then i find out that i might be worse and then i run back to him, head bowed, shoulders slumped but the beautiful thing is his love and assurance just lifts me right back up. let me stop here because i love talking about him and sometimes, i lose track. 🙂

Ah! Lovie, don’t let my daddy hear you, o. He’s “Kings” English standard is something to hear. On another lighter note, this very same “English” was one of my listed faults when someone broke up with me sometime ago. I think “surreptitiously” was the killer word he! he!. I am humbled by your “endorsements”. Thank you for making me smile.

      @Blessed and Mz. S. A.
The dear, dear, Holy Spirit, hmmmm, he can like to be remembering someone oh ( I say this with all Love, Father). How many times has he replayed my own faults in the kaleidoscope of his own love just to teach me to remember to show that same the love to others.

As to devotionals, Mz.. S. A., you begin to write the test before you commot for house sef. One phone call as you prepare for work is all it sometimes takes to tell the angels to, as we say in BN Parlance, “Park Well” or “Have a Stadium Full of Seats” as we bully our way into handle things. But once we surrender, like you did. He gladly, sweetly comes to our aid. “Oh! taste and see that the Lord is good”. My personal struggles in this regard are that, one, I don’t want my not complaining to be mistaken as a pass for the same wrong to be done. Two, sometimes I feel there are instances where something should be said. and saying it right Trying to learn through those.

On another note, I remember once, when I was “feeling myself” over one comment I made on BN. The censure I immediately got almost made me cower under my table. As He (Holy Spirit) take gentle na him He dey also no take nonsense.

Nothing we have is ours. Nothing belongs to us.

my dear, Far from it. i knew nothing until he revealed himself to me, that which i know now, He (the holy spirit) gave to me, by himself he brought me to this level, He made it happen. i own none of any “knowledge” i have shared. without him, i am completely finished!

my walk with the Holy Spirit has been pretty full of baby steps, today i am standing and tomorrow, i am on the floor refusing to get up. i was a pretty strong headed person and its easy to say the Holy Spirit is the Lord of my life but yielding is a different story altogether but we are making progress

you are right, he has your back always. he even said that if we are faithless, he will remain faithful because he cant deny himself( 2 timothy 2: 13). wow, what a testimony you have there about your fiance, very lovely.
i listen to Benny Hinn and Kathryn Kuhlman too. they are both amazing. Most of the time, i listen to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Do have a sweet walk with Him. God bless you.

… Or He (the Holy Spirit) even reminds you of something you read just that morning in your own devotional which should inspire a different reaction from you. However, due to “strong head”, you’ll present your many arguments about why this VERY situation should justify your righteous anger.

Leaving Toke out of this, let me tell you two sisters (you seem like people who share in my similar struggle with Him 🙂 ) a tale from this morning. Devotional Scripture – Matthew 18, emphasis on Peter asking Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother. Thoughtfully read and digested … until I got to work and within the 1st hour of being there, a colleague just did something that ANNOYED me. Kai!! Immediately!! My mind went back to count her other individual sins in the past and I started discussing with myself how “we” were going to call her to order, sharp-sharp! This can’t be allowed to continue!! Imagine this girl’s effrontery!

Sat at my desk and already began mapping out the calculated words & talk I was going to have with her (chiefly to make it clear that I don’t appreciate her rudeness), in fact I even started preparing the diplomatic response I’d give her manager if she took things the wrong way… and then I heard what could only have been God quietly asking what I’d learnt this morning. But! Lord, that’s different! This girl’s cup don full for my hand, ohhh! Abeg, abeg, let me have this golden opportunity… And then I heard another question, about what I think will happen if her heart hardens because of this talk and it affects a future working relationship that I probably can’t see from this point? I really wanted to yimu but I slowly began to simmer down and then gradually just let the anger fizzle out. No word of a lie, 10 mins later she walked into my office asking for some help with something and I just marvelled internally at how calmly and cordially my external self was conversing with her and how differently things might have gone if not for that earlier caution from God.

Continuous learning curve is what it is, even when I don’t always get it right…

hahahhaha @ reminder.. my sister, you sabi am. we are all together in it and i will be like, ” why did i even read this verse this morning? ehnn, chai! you just gave the exact representation of how we know whats the proper thing in our spirits to do but self pride will rear its ugly head.
everytime we hear the word of God, there will always be a test just after to make proof of what we have learnt or else we cant progress and should we fail that test, it will come again until we make a winner of our spirits

wow, you won the battle against “self”. way to go, darling!! the more we let go of our rights, the better we get to know and act like him.

what is the meaning of this your statement.

I hate it when people try to use education to oppress others ( this is a very common practice amongst we black people).

just because u go school doesn’t mean u sre better than anyone.

Toke go and sit down with your driver and unfold any dissatisfied things going on, don’t run to twitter because at the end you will get a backlash by your follower.
Act like a good boss and do./handle things maturely, beside is your driver on twitter.?
How will you feel if your boss go on social media to rant about your daily duties at work good or bad, I reckon you will feel uneasy. so learn to treat others right especially domestic staffs.
toke your eyebrows and makeup always on fleek but can we extend our personality, moral. Maturity, knowledge, foresight, carriage ,behaviour, dealings etc to be on FLEEK too?

I used to follow toke on instagram, my friends kept telling me”don’t like her too much cos she will dissappoint you” cos I always on about her . Then she took some trip during the past xmas season and dint let me breathe. Kept showing off what and what she bought and how much she spent on it. Immediately, I hit the unfollow button.

Why did I stop? Cos I felt she was a role model and young women look up to her, when you are now fronting how much u spend on stuff, them young impressionable girls u give all that vlog advise you spew(which I used to love) will look for ways to own those things.

And as much as I respect hard work, Toke there is no need need to be gaudy and boastful. You treat people the way you hope to be treated, who in the world is above mistake?

Oh toke. All this noise because ur driver lost ur car remote/key? Its a mistake that anyone can make nah, ah. The way she’s going on and on and on like the man did something intentionally malicious to her. Contemplating short-changing his salary keh?? For what? So u’ve never made mistakes/blunders at work before? And why rant about it on social media? Domestic staff in naija already have enough problems they chop from the hands of their employers….only for u to come and add this one, then tag it “necessary evil”, blowing it out of proportion like it was intentional. For someone ive read preach about living and letting others live…u sure have a short fuse for something so insignificant. Im pretty sure it was sucky for u this a.m. having this mess inconvenience u, but it couldve been anything…ur car could’ve broke down. Would u have gone on this rant if it was ur hubby or sibling who misplaced it? Calm all the way down abeg and pay the man his money, Unless ur job deducts money from ur paycheck for making mistakes at work(which im sure u make), pay him his money.

      March 3, 2015 at 11:15 pm

You obviously do not know the meaning of the word professionalism. So you think that it is okay for a boss to publicly shame their employee on social media? That is professionalism in your eyes?
Somehow, I’m sure you would not be saying this if it was a doctor being shamed via twiter (lol) by the hospital management. Or a law firm shaming one of it’s lawyers via instagram. Or even a business with a facebook page shaming an employee via that same facebook page. Not only does it make the employee look bad, it makes the employer look worse.
What Toke did was very unprofessional.
The professional thing to do is call the employee aside and talk to him- privately, or fire him- privately!

The same people saying everyone makes mistakes are the same ones crucifying her, is Toke not part of everyone? She is pissed that her driver lost her remote, she tweeted about it like the loads of random unnecessary tweets on twitter, but it’s Toke so she has committed a grave crime. She is even still contemplating on if to take it off his pay, but that has gone unnoticed, it’s the fact that she has a driver, car with remote etc that is a topic. I’d love to see how you treat your helps, it’s easy to write English.

… This Babe will still remain “in our face” literally!
She is really cashing in on her ‘ongoing’ publicity.Well, It is her time to shine.
I just hope she is wise enough to Humble herself in Words and Deeds as soon as possible. Let her “History” (In many years now) be not that of …’Once upon a time I had the luxury of…. NOW it is hard to come by.

I remember going to my doctor’s office once and the receptionist had forgotten the office key and could not open the door to let anybody in. All the patients had to wait until the doctor came to get the door open. The remarkable thing is that the man just made some joke about the situation and laughed it off, we all had a good laugh about the situation, if he got mad at the receptionist later, none of the patients knew about it. This is how a good employer operate, they do not humiliate their staff to the masses over something that every person has done at least once, misplaced something. This very unwise woman does not know that this entire ordeal may be an act of God holding her at a place to prevent her from meeting into a greater danger had she been on the roads which are so full of death these days.

As a Youngin back in the day in naija, I had a driver that take me to school, drivers are not that expensive to afford and we don’t need to know that your car has remote. Cars come with both remote and keys, unless you drive a second hand and you don’t have both,as most nigerian celebrities do, they always buy second and be claiming nonsense.
