ARISE Magazine Fashion Week 2011 – Korto Momolu
Posted on Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 at 12:06 AMBy BellaNaija.com
It was her first trip back to the continent in 23 years and with her mother in the audience, Liberian/American Project Runway Alum, Korto Momolu set the runway alight.
To the beat of drums, the models strutted down the runway in fluid floor-length dresses with daringly plunging necklines. The collection featured a mix of black, print and sequins which created a delicious palette of texture and dimensions. Other standouts include a trio of black sequined dresses and a stunning long coat dress with a long slit and a structured peplum waist detail.
The collection was very well received by the guests and Korto relished the attention as she confidently walked down the runway for her final walk. Welcome home!

There’s 1,2,3,4 comments before yours sweetie, so no u’re not the first! And enough with the ‘first to comment’ comments, it’s getting tired and rather annoying!
Loving Momo’s work, but those necklines sha…talk about plunging!
Aminat’s weave should have been fixed….other than that…
I’VE ALWAYS LOVED HER DESIGNS! i feel she should have won Project Runway…end of.

Yup, i concur with you, THE AMAKA…Korto should have won Project Runway! that said, where can I get her stuff in nigeria? I hope she is gonna have some sort of outlet there, her clothes are to die for!

Nice work Korto! In between I see my self in that Black gown with the jacket on my desk at the office on a friday. Since I dont intend to steal it, Bella, please provide contact details of Korto. Many thanks
Beautiful collection every piece is wearable, thumbs up.
Wow! I’m drooling over the metallic purple here. And I love that black top with the turquoise skirt! Very fun.
I loved her on project runway, and it was a welcome surprise to see her clothes walk down the runway on Friday…wanted her to be amongst the chosen for Arise New York Fashion Week’s show. Still irritated that Jewel by Lisa made it ( hers clothes had no wow effect what so ever)

Her name is millen, she’s in her 30ies from Tanzania, lives in New york and she’s – on these youngins with her fierceness on the runway
