Published

MMR Rising Icon ImageThe Music Meets Runway Foundation was established in 2011 to support and empower emerging talent across the Arts, at critical stages in their creative lives. The mission is to use music and fashion to educate, motivate, inspire and change lives by providing assistance to the youth. By either supporting their growing business or by bringing Arts & Crafts into their educational system, thereby creating jobs, we are able to leverage our love for fashion and music to provide opportunities for philanthropic growth says Jennifer Olize, Founder of the Music Meets Runway Foundation.

Last year, the MMR Foundation through the help of sponsor; Sovereign Trust Insurance, was able to reaffirm its commitment to empowering emerging talents by awarding a 3 Million Naira grant to Olakunbi Oyelese, creative director of Nigerian fashion label; April by Kunbi at MMR 2013. This year, the MMR Foundation continues on the journey to find and showcase the best of African Fashion as we embark on a rigorous search for one designer who will join the ranks of Kunbi Oyelese as MMR Rising Icons.

Errrrrmmm…..Isnt April by Kunbi a good friend of Jen and her big sis? Just wondering
I have seen the way those girls live BIG so this “foundation” seems like a wash. We however look forward to the fashion show

2011 was a hit, it went downhill from there. Hope it will be good this year as we dont have any new upcoming designers on the scene

Jennifer is doing a good thing with the MMR initiated. A lot of people out there should have come forth with something even similar, but they didn’t. Continue doing well jor! We are with you and behind you.

Every competition in Nigeria is boju boju, oloro n bo! (fake)! How does the fact stated by anon change anything….. “they weren’t part of the people that picked the winner” such a stupid comment! I’m sure Jenny has the power to choose the winner, any day, any time, fuck jury. It’s all a show. Jenny gets a percentage of the price money too. She and Kunbi go share am, na sooooo.
