Fun, Colourful & Girly – View Ghana’s SHE by Bena’s Ready-to-Wear “Skittles” Collection

ShebyBena Skittles Collection Lookbook - Bellanaija - September2014016

We couldn’t help but have candy coated day dreams when we came across Ghanaian design label SHE by Bena‘s “Skittles” collection.

The brand prides itself in making fabulous, sophisticated and timeless clothes for women since its inception in 2012 by its Creative Designer – Sheelah Ewura Abena Garbrah. SHE by Bena has a take on fashion that adds a distinct use of fabrics and colour to its pieces that birth the classic pieces they produce. For this collection, they incorporated the girly vibe with colour using Vlisco fabrics.

The brand is apparently a fave for many Ghanaian beauties like Joselyn Dumas, Sandra Ankobiah, Jackie Appiah, Becca and Efya.

Prior to her Ready-to-Wear collection, Sheelah was in the business of making couture wedding gowns, but looking at these pieces we are glad she made the switch.

Check out the collection below;

    Ghana designers fit packageeee! Fine models, nice but irrelevant to the clothes backdrop, regular tailor clothes. This is not a designer.

    Oh my gosh….what a breath of fresh air.!!! Totally what African fashion needs right now especially as it appears to be awash with style over substance designs in some instances. The finishing seems on point too. This is Nice, girly, clean-cut designs…and so totally wearable pieces. Simple yet classy and elegant. I will be calling to order ASAP. We’ll done you

    Just because you are african, that doesn’t mean you should use 24/7, there are other fabrics in the world.

    critics! can you even sew your pants and boxers together… she’s not a designer what is she? obioma taylor/ejikanishop?… you dont have to sew what people cant wear, there is a difference. that is why some cloths can be bought off the run way and some just exhibits the designers creative/twisted mind….

    Looks like nice construction & exceptional packaging on basic & below average designs. I don’t necessarily see cohesion either. Gotta give it up that the designer did a good job with the ‘presentation’..

    Nice feminine collection. However I think the photos were taken a bit far off and so it makes the looks just a part of a picture. would have liked to see them close up because they look really cute. The sort of clothes I would wear.
